And MiniPocketWorld, you stole my 43,000 milestone. Just kidding. You got it first. It’s yours.

Lol oops. Didn't know you were aiming for that. Yeah I noticed Brewster's really picked up in general since the wishing well event. I'm glad because interesting random stuff pop ups in this area of the site and I find it fun.

It could also be because the site is busier during the second half of the year. Not only did we just have the Camp TBT event, but Halloween and Christmas are coming. As for the first half, the only time the site gets busy is during the egg hunts.

“Once the night is through, and the clock strikes twelve, Halloween will be over. But don’t worry, we’ll all be back again next year to strike fear.” - Jabberin’ Jack (second personality)

This quote does remind me of how we have a limited period of time to enjoy things. You may have a lot of time or a limited time to enjoy it, but once the time is up, it’s over. So it’s time for the hard stuff or the quiet age of events. But at the same time, it’s not a one time deal, but rather an annual thing, meaning that even though time is up, you will experience it again the next year. Like summer vacation, or the TBT Fair, or an annual trip to some place you frequently visit.

saw this on pinterest and it made me think of the ever lovely @Xara 😭

I don’t want to start an AI imagery debate, but I just wanted to dump a thought I posted on another site:

They’re not the same thing because AI imagery is more of a consumption thing. You request an output and consume it.
Art is more educational and creative. You work through fundamentals and problem solve.

If you’re using AI imagery as a basis for art it’s more complicated, and I’ve come to begrudgingly accept it more. However, I still hate when people say it opens up art for everyone, because it literally isn’t the same thing. You probably won’t have any deep experiences prompting AI imagery, and even artistic fields that seem more automatic like CG and photography use tons of the same fundamentals as illustration. Sure you also have to decide on prompts and solve them but it’s not the same kind of problem solving at all.

I also hate it when people say art is “gatekept”. In terms of available information and ease of starting it’s actually one of the most accessible (not necessarily easy, but accessible) hobbies. Sure it’s hard to make a living off but otherwise it isn’t really gatekept more than any other field.

I feel like the people who say stuff like this believe it's being gatekept because they're holding themselves, and art in general, to a ridiculously high standard, which is honestly sad. anyone can be an artist, you don't have to be "amazing", or even "good" for that matter. the desire to create and enjoy art is very human and is a universal experience. the only person holding you back from being an artist is you.

It would be a pretty cool feature if the site had hourly themes play for the hour it is for the user, and it's completely random which game it's from every time (and Wild World and City Folk's music are separate). Every hour it would change to an hourly theme from a different game. And everyone would hear different songs since they're randomized and everyone is in a different time zone. I understand that it might be hard to implement, and it's not something I desperately want, but still, it would be kind of cool.

I wish for this site feature as well. But I prefer to mix and match hourly musics since every game has at least an hourly song or two that I hate. Here’s my preferences:
  • 6 AM - GameCube
  • 7 AM - GameCube
  • 8 AM - Wild World
  • 9 AM - Wild World
  • 10 AM - Wild World
  • 11 AM - GameCube
  • 12 PM - New Leaf
  • 1 PM - Wild World
  • 2 PM - New Leaf
  • 3 PM - New Leaf
  • 4 PM - GameCube
  • 5 PM - GameCube
  • 6 PM - GameCube
  • 7 PM - GameCube
  • 8 PM - Wild World
  • 9 PM - New Leaf
  • 10 PM - GameCube
  • 11 PM - GameCube
  • 12 AM - New Horizons
  • 1 AM - Wild World
  • 2 AM - New Horizons
  • 3 AM - New Leaf
  • 4 AM - Wild World
  • 5 AM - Wild World
Even though some of these aren’t my favorites, some feel more matching than others. I like fried chicken, and I like chocolate cream pies. But fried chicken and chocolate pies don’t mix. If I were to have a dessert with fried chicken, it would be banana pudding or cheesecake (or apple pie if I have to follow the fried scheme). But if I can’t mix and match hourly musics, I guess I’ll have to stream it all from the GameCube Version (or ACNL if I still keep browsing this forum at 3 AM).

Honestly I'd be happy just having a morning afternoon evening and night song that comes from ac. Maybe it could be attached to banner changes.
It reminds me of when we have the Christmas Advent calendar. I actually logged on at points just to listen to it while doing other stuff.

I just realised, I don't think I've been around on this site during Halloween at any point. I'm excited to see what everyone usually gets up to.

Some users have some funny or silly usernames, but the most creative or funny names belong to the lesser active members. Out of all the more active members, the user with best username is Millysaurusrexjr. Though Xara did have the best original username that was long ago changed.

Usually the staff hosts a Halloween event that starts during the early-to-mid part of the month, with a few activities so that people can earn Halloween collectibles. Also, since Friday the 13th happens in October this year, The Woods subforum may return, which is basically just for people to make silly threads related to Halloween or spooky stuff in general.

It's never guaranteed that the staff will host an official Halloween event, especially since the Fair and Camp TBT take up so much time and energy, but considering how much they're hellbent on providing members with a good time, I wouldn't expect any less for there to be another one this year.

I wish there was a spin-off of Big Brother where politicians from around the world have to stay in a house together, have drama, and vote each other out, except the loser is chosen from a lip-sync like Drag Race. Idk who would agree to this but it sounds funny in my mind.
