Yesterday, I was watching a video about a TikToker that lied about being kicked out of his house by his mom so he could get money. Anyway, his mom ended up finding out, but the main reason this is important to my research is that I noticed that everyone in the video had a Southern accent, so I assumed that they were from the South. But the thing is, the person in this video (the one scamming people) talked exactly like people in my school. He used the exact slang words that I still don't know the meanings of. And then it all made sense. The reason I talk like a normal person, but half of the people at school don't is because they're addicted to TikTok. If that's true, which I feel like it is, that would explain so much. But that would mean that the reason they do that is because they just completely let TikTok shape their vocabulary. So I hope it's not true, because that would be depressing even if it seems like the most logical explanation.
