There's a thread in the Basement about rating a user's avatar, and I really don't get why it's still there. I don't think we should be judging anyone based on what they pick as their PFP. unless it's against the rules here.

Modern fine art is a complete joke, fine art in museums nowadays is just these things called "art" like banana being taped on a wall or a straight line being drawn in a canvas and the people will call it "thought-provoking" and "deep". I appreciate traditional fine art better when it comes to visiting museum exhibits is because those art pieces actually have effort and history put into it rather than piling up boxes without any decoration and effort while calling it "art". The saddest part is that there will be people paying huge amounts of money for just a straight line being drawn on a canvas.

I can't find myself appreciating modern fine art and they all feel "hollow" to me.

There are better artists out there on the internet putting their work out on the internet yet they don't have installments in museums.

I can understand where you're coming from; it does look low-effort at first. I don't really mind though, because it's hard to define art nowadays.

I was reminded of this one post someone made on a website where they went something like, "Art used to be something worth cherishing, now anything can be art. This post is art." Later someone printed out a screenshot of the post, put it on a frame, and sold it for almost 91k dollars.

Oh, also, I agree with you. I think a lot of it has to do with social power/standing. If I were to take a rotten slice of cheese, tape it to an index card, and walk into the art museum or the auction house and try to label it as art, I'd get called a moron and probably be escorted out of the building. Whereas an accomplished artist could easily do the same and make a million dollars. I think people realize that if you are well-known, you can decide the definitions of things like art, and people just tend to agree with you - kind of like a weird social experiment; so they make up weird or crazy things to either make a quick buck, make publicity for themselves, or just "push the boundaries" or whatever.

I hope everything will be okay. Just sent something that I should’ve done months ago. I am trying to communicate more but I still have a lot of work to get better at it. Recently, both communicating and not communicating did not go well. I kinda want to stop socializing at this point, but I have too many good friends that I’d miss and I know it is silly to shut myself off instead of learning from it. But honestly, what did I learn aside from the fact maybe I need to put myself first sooner and as a friend told me, not to try so hard.

Apparently there’s this Australian podcaster who claims he’s never read a book in his life. That’s impossible. Don’t you have to read books in school? (As was pointed out by “Do We Know Them? Podcast” who brought this to my attention.)

There was a lot more drama with him (hence why half the podcast was devoted to it), BUT that alone seemed weird to me. And laughing about it? Boy…not reading is NOT the flex you think it is!

People are talking about how Bush used operation Iraqi freedom to raid the tomb of Gilgamesh, and some museums, which makes me think of the Tower of Babel, which would justify the weapons of mass destruction thing. There is mention of a stargate in there, and people are assuming the U.S. government is cloning Gilgamesh, and he is a descendant of fallen angels.

My mom dropped off this box of cereal that they didn't like when she came over. I ended up eating a bowl. It was ehh. I wonder why they dislike it so much though. It wasn't horrible, just not that great.
Anyway, I think I'm going to tell her to stop dropping cereal off at my house everytime they try a new flavor and don't like it. It has been happening frequently since last year, and I think it is a sign to them to move away from the sugary cereal and eat something else for breakfast. And I certainly don't need it in my house either.

Yeah, I think so. Probably because I was reading about some ancient Sumerian stuff, and I have heard conspiracy theories about stargates. Idk…I took a class in college called Archaeology of Religion and I LOVED it, and the Gilgamesh stuff reminds me of what I learned there…BUT there is more to the story than what I learned, it seems. ️

I'm really loving this thing so far. However I do have one slight complaint about it.
The keyboard and the spot they put the touch-pad at (even though I'm using a wireless mouse). Oh course, I'll get use to it eventually.

I made onion soup with brandy!

It's been over a year since having this, but we had the onions and my spouse is suffering from what he says is allergies but I kinda wonder if it is a cold since it was all of a sudden. Takes a little bit of extra THYME to make, but it's yum.
I'll be having some of this later tonight because we were invited to dinner by our new friends so I'm not really ready to eat this soup right now. But it will wait for me on the stove.

I didn't think it was possible to make a bad dish of pasta until tonight when my dad decided to cook dinner. I think he overcooked the macaroni because it was mushy and unpleasant. :( I added a stupid amount of cheese to compensate, but I don't think it helped lol.
