Pokémon Pokemon Legends Arceus (Spoiler free) Opinions

Hello!

This is gonna be an interesting thread, but for those of you who got PLA today on release, what are your thoughts so far? If possible, avoid discussing game mechanics and new pokemon, just share your abstract thoughts on things like hype you had up till now and how the game delivered on it, how fresh it feels, if it's more of a link to the past -> ocarina of time situation or ocarina of time -> breath of the wild, etc.

Speaking of Zelda, it just feels like Breath of the Wild. Except there are Pokémon everywhere.

I like it a lot, one of the quests was

giving a kid some Pokéballs because they wanted to catch a Pokémon

and it just feels oh so charming.

The most annoying part of the game is that it didn't steal more mechanics from BotW.

It is very similar to BoTW. Older players, like myself, will find the game to be very different. My only complaints are the hand-holding(the guides) and Alpha Pokemon. The Alpha Pokemon are unnecessairly hard for Pokemon that are just large in size. I'm only going to battle them once I've used enough Grit items to improve my stats because the catch rate for them is pretty low. I've had a steady progress completing the Dex so far. The first two ranks are pretty easy to get to. After Third Rank it gets harder and you need to catch lots of mons. I hated that they removed some moves like Earthquake and Surf, but I figure that spread moves might hit the player character too. I actually dont mind the lack of NPC battles. Its interesting to see the interaction of wild Pokémon, especially their interaction with humans.
