Pokémon Sapphire Version--Nostalgia Run~~Day 1

Because of the release of Pokémon Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire in twenty days here in the U.S., I've decided to do a Pokémon Sapphire nostalgia run.

While I was originally going to do Ruby Version, Our friendly moderator Thunder told me that he would expect a Sapphire run from me based off of my username.

I will use an emulator because the actual cartridge form I have of Pokémon Sapphire Version is hard to take high-quality photos with, and it's not fun looking at horrid pictures of Pokémon games...

Thus, we start now!


I open up the game, skip through the introduction like I did when I was 6 in 2007, when I first got this game, and get to the title screen...

...and a blast of nostalgia hits me like a wave.

I always thought it funny when they introduced them like that. They send out a Pokémon that's cute or weak or something. They then decide to impress on you that all Pokémon are like that.
I name myself BluRose, and continue to LITTLEROOT TOWN.

And then I see the flowers. Oh my gosh the flowers.

So now my mother and I go into our new house, where our father seems to be gone, with ABSOLUTELY NO EXPLANATION WHERE HE IS. NOT TO MENTION THE JOHTO REGION WAS SO MUCH BETTER.

I set the clock to 10: 24, the time currently on my computer.
My mom tells me to check the things on my desk. I never did as a child, why should I do it now?
My mom says that my father is on TV. What? I never knew he was famous here...
My mother is all about friends. So she tells me to go introduce myself to my neighbors, which I had never ever noticed before.

I catch my neighbor writing in her diary. She asks me who I am as if she wasn't expecting to see me. Whatever. She's probably going to be the weakest person out there, with ideals of friendship.

I exit her house, and continue out to the route, which is directionally north (unlike NEW BARK TOWN's west), entirely ignoring the HUGE laboratory down there. There's nothing important in the laboratory anyways.

However, this boy stops me. He warns me that someone is shouting down the road here. Probably some crazy person or something. He then sacrifices me to go help him, blocking my way back. Great.

The guy tries to make casual conversation with me while trying to wrangle a... new Pokémon? What is this thing?
It kind of looked like... like a coarse-haired dark-furred dog, with a triangular face.
He tells me to get his conveniently-placed bag, and get a Pokémon out of it, so I do.

So, which starter should I choose? What should I name it? You decide.
Starter will be chosen based off of popularity, name will be narrowed down to the first different three suggested.

Pick Torchic and name it KFC. Why? Because it's a bad nickname. And we all know, if you're trying to make something fabulous, it has be ruined in some way!
