Pokémon Pokemon Sun and Moon are Reported to be Laggy on older 3DS models

I have a 3DS XL but I don't remember any lag in ORAS. I have no plans on buying the NN3DS so I'll have to deal with any lag in Sun.

The battles that include more than one opponent seem to be the laggiest. Not too bad, but you can definitely notice. I am still loving every moment of it anyway!

The battles were really laggy in the demo on my 3DS... and it appears the game doesn't support the 3D effect at all? I reckon they could just optimise the game a little...
I doubt optimizing would even help it that much. Given the rumors of a third version made for the Nintendo Switch and how little we're using the touch screen, I almost willing to bet Nintendo really pushed hard for a 3DS version still.

So, what i've experienced so far is that it's very laggy when there's more than one opponent battling. Not a big problem tho.

yea i got sun for my brother and he currently has an old 3ds, he said sometimes the frames are complete garbage and it feels like he's watching a slideshow

I don't mind if its laggy. I'm still having fun with it.

Glad I don't plan on getting it then (have an old 3ds xl here) and never dl'd the demo. Tbh they could have pulled their market trick/req as they did with xenoblades if it's proven, I mean who wouldn't buy a whole new console for it?

Given that it's Pokemon, I can see people actually upgrading for Pokemon instead of a no-name JRPG. Lotta angry parents too.

Totem battles are a bit laggy. It's the special effect on the totem pokemon itself I'm pretty sure.

Besides the startup lag, and annoying lag after turning the game off, I haven't noticed anything.

I've noticed the lagginess for sure.
I have an older 3DS and a new 3DS, but I'd played the demo on the old 3DS, so I've been playing Moon on the old one as well. I really should transfer the Greninja from the demo to Moon so that I can play on my new 3DS, the lag is annoying and worries me haha.

Just did battle royale with 4 pokemon. That was crazy, crazy laggy.

So far, offline stuff, there is barely any lag in Sun and Moon. Online, I'm sure there will be a little lag, but that is to be expected when online. I tried a multibattle or battle royal, oh dang does it lag when it involves more than one player. I don't want to imagine how much it lags in a multi battle or a battle royal with only Moltres as the partner pok?mon. Since of course, Moltres causes the most lag it seems.

Yeah, I just wonder why they didn't market it like Xenoblades if they might actually know it might lag down the older models even if it's "playable".

Anyways, I tried a bit of the demo now because Sun/Moon is pretty much the only not so trash game released here aside from SMT and it worked alright on my old 3ds xl given that I only did like Skull and Totem battles, but yeah those pseudo-cutscenes, ech

Actually got Moon today cause I had some loose change to spend on stuff and game didn't get too expensive so.. Well as for lag only thing that flipped so far was when shutting down the game for some reason, the actual in-game I didn't notice too much aside from the obvious first-time start up stuff... We'll see how it moves, then.
