Pokémon Pokemon Sun and Moon General Discussion

I'm currently doing a Wonder Trade chain, and so far, I've gotten nothing good. It's to be expected since not too many people would be far enough in the game to wonder trade stuff yet, but I'm still hopeful.
 
To the people who ended the first part of the game:
Where do you find the ultrabeast , UB-01 first X_X?
On Wela Volcano Park or Diglett's Tunnel? :<

Diglett tunnel
it's much faster here then the other but you can find it in both

Turn on the music, you'll know that you are in the area you can find the Ultra Beasts when the music is different from normal (it'll sound alien and kind of panicky). Put a Pok?mon in the first slot of you party that is higher leveled than all the wild encounters in the area and use a Repel. Just make sure it is lower in level than the Ultra Beast as well. In theory every encounter should be the Ultra Beast you are looking for, I did this with the legendary in Ten Carat Hill and it worked first encounter.

Don't open the spoilers until you finished the post-game quest.
What are your guys' favorite Ultra Beasts? My most favorite is Celesteela. Out of all of them this one is probably the strangest that there is. Standing at 30 feet and 2 inches tall, this giant warship/spaceship has a tiny derp face and huge bamboo arms. Steel/Flying is a great typing, offering 8 resistances and 2 immunities with only 2 weaknesses (both covered by the fact that this thing can learn Earthquake and Autotomotize).

Interesting fact, Celesteela is tied with Cosmoem as the heaviest Pok?mon in the entire Pok?Dex at 2204.4 lbs (beating Primal Groudon by a small margin). It is because of this that Celesteela has access to a base 120 power STAB Heavy Slam against 90% of all the Pok?mon in the entire game.

I REALLY REALLY want the Baile Style Oricorio (fire/flying) early in the game, and I'm sad that I cant get it until Ula'ula Island.

should I catch the Pom-pom style (electric/flying) on Melemele straight away and then wait till I get to Ula'ula Island to use the Red Nectar?

or should I just wait till I get to Ula'ula?

is there gonna be a difference either way or?

If you catch and use it now it should have near maxed EVs by the time you get to Ula'ula, in which case you'll have a much stronger Oricorio at that point in the game than if you were to catch one in the wild at Ula'ula with no EVs.

I really love the last one its just the most creepiest of them all plus dark/dragon
Hydreigon it's one of my favorite Pokemon out there<3 so love the typing and how it's very differently from the rest because of his desing
It just scream "scary" it's so cool

Spent most of today grinding wild pokemon for levelling. Hopefully I can start the post game story/stories soon.

Island scan is being a troll and keeps finding pokemon in places I can't get to yet :/

And your team hasn't been underlevelled at all for any previous fights? If so that is very impressive. If it wasn't for Exp share I'd have been grinding wild pokemon encounters for hours.

Guzzlord is also another weird one that I like, out of all the Ultra Beasts I like its cry the most. However, I feel it was a bit of a missed opportunity that Beast Boost doesn't grant it a free heal on each Pok?mon it faints given how high its HP stat is and its description of being a Pok?mon that devours everything in its path. Given how slow he is and his poor defenses I feel like it wouldn't be overpowered.

Quick Guide for Farming Heart Scales: The quickest way to find Heart Scales is to fish for Luvdisc on Route 9. On Route 9 they have a 70% encounter rate and can be found between levels 10-23. To farm Heart Scales, you will need...

  • A Pok?mon with Compoundeyes
  • A Pok?mon that can learn Theif
    Conveniently enough, Butterfree has both of the above (and is the only one that can currently have both in SM). Catch a Caterpie on Route 1 and evolve it.
  • TM for Theif

    This can be found in Verdant Cavern which is very early on in the game

Put Butterfree in the lead of your party and start fishing on Route 9. With Compoundeyes, the chance of finding a Heart Scale on a Luvdisc increases from 50% to 60%. Luvdisc has terrible stats as well, so use Theif to easily OHKO it and steal its item on the first turn. Once the battle is over and you have received your Heart Scale, go into your party and take the Heart Scale from Butterfree (it can only steal items if it isn't holding anything). Repeat until you have all the Heart Scales you like. Level up and EV train Butterfree if it has a hard time fainting anything.

Heart Scales are even more useful now than ever before with the recent changes to the Move Tutor, as she can now teach you ANY move in the Pok?mon's level up list even before they learn them normally at the required level. This is especially useful if you want egg moves on a Pok?mon when breeding, and if the breeding parent doesn't learn the egg move until a very high level.

but you gotta admit in something if the Pokemon game does that everyone think he will be overpowered I just actually wish they don't that but raise his defense a bit more considering on how he looks because he look like a tank
But he still be favorite because of his desing that just scream "scary" and because I'm loving the typing so much and the cry.. It just so cool I also like how they give him for last like his the strongest of all ultra beast around it it's just perfect
Thought I feel like necrozoma will be a better fit for ultra beast then legendary then him will be my favorite
It's just he look like an ultra beast not legendary
But then again I think he the one that mean about eclipse right?
 
Just defeated Lusamine at the Aether Paradise. What an intense slew of battles in this portion of the game! They weren't overly difficult, but they felt like they meant something. Really enjoying the game so far, one of my recent favorites.
 
It shows how much having an effective type helps... I had to go against Ilima 3 times (and grind to get my pokemon up a few levels higher than his team) to beat him, but the actual trial and totem pokemon were a cakewalk (I have Brionne)... SIGH! At least I've finished one trial now. I'm in Melemele Meadow and I want all of the Oricorio types! Is it possible to get all of the types in the Meadow?

Also, why is Lillie the most useless person in the world... always having to go after her and save Nebby, smh

Edit: Ignore my question on Oricorio! I just read about the nectar... ; v ;
