Pokémon Pokemon Sun and Moon General Discussion

Adding onto my last post...

A Pok?mon that has a capture rate of 255 will always have a 100% chance to stay in a Quick Ball on the first turn (they have a capture rate multiplier of 4 prior to SM and a capture rate of 5 in the newer games). Beast Balls also have a catch rate multiplier of 5, so they are always guaranteed to capture Pheromosa and Kartana on any turn.
 
I just wanna say something real quick... SHINY MINIOR IS AMAZING!!! It seems like this is the only good shiny Pokemon Sun and Moon had to offer, to be completely honest...
 
I do not recommend chucking beast balls on the first turn. I was resetting for a good nature UB1 (~12 resets) and I threw a beast ball on every first turn. On a couple of occasions the ball rolled once or twice, but many times it just instantly escaped.

I had a 1/4 success rate throwing beast ball on the first turn for pheromosa so that went better. At red HP most beast balls will definitely catch it though. I had a fun run with UB1 where it cost me 3 beast balls at red HP. Luckily it was a bad nature so I could reset...

Dexio's post game team is a right pain, also. I wish they didn't cordon off Poni Island until you did this fight. Want to explore the world damnit. Should have done this before finishing the story :/

Run a capture calculator for a Pidgey and Quick Ball. It'll catch it 100% of the time at full health as I said before. Pheromosa and Kartana have the same catch rate as Pidgey and are capturable in a ball type that is basically a Quick Ball but has the same multiplier on every turn. Not all of the Ultra Beasts have the same capture rate, but the ones I mentioned are guaranteed to be caught with a Beast Ball each time you use it.

I recommend get a a Pikipek or a Growlithe in case you want to defend from grass type. I also recommend getting possibly something that can take a lot of damage. Like a Pok?mon that can simply take a lot of hits.

Thank you for responding to me! What about Alolan Marowak instead of Growlithe? There are so many cute new ones but I don't think they are that strong, but I could be wrong...

Shiny Minior is okay imo. From what I've seen online, the outer shell has no shiny difference, and the cores are all the same black color, probably because Gamefreak didn't feel like developing a shiny core color for each normal core color. It has like 5 cores doesn't it?

Am i the only one who thinks the UB-0X missions are annoying by the fact you have to catch the same Beast from 2 to 4 times -_-?

This can't be the case. I finished the Pheromosa section only this morning and they were definitely breaking out of beast balls at full HP.

I lose my mind sometimes but there were at least two occasions where the first ball missed, and I then made sure to lower their HP before trying again.

UB1 and UB2 are the only Ultra Beasts I've done so I can't be mixing it up with another UB.

I guess arguing this is not worth it. I'll have to ask my brother when he plays through Moon to stop at this point so I can test this again

Can you stop people from appearing in your festival plaza? I turned off the wireless on my 3DS but the person is still there~

I really do t like his type of grass/fairy why he couldn't be fighting he a freKing bull
And why he can't get inside the luxury ball!!!!!!!!! Can I tape it

It's just I tried it I even turn off the game and put it back on and still people were there
Especially your friend that you saved in your friend list that they play Pokemon

Well as much I want to pass everything with the team I did with primaria I need better my decidueye team just work better plus stun spore
 
Ok, this is probably a stupid question, but can someone explain how the ultrabeasts work? I see "wandering around in the grass", so does that mean that you randomly encounter them in their noted locations?

Yup if your in a cage just walk around and if your in a patch of grass just walk around
But recommended to use repel to keep the lower away but low enough to for ultra beast to appear

Ah, ok! Cool, thank you! I am assuming I should wait to take them on though, my team is only level ~25 ; v ;
 
I'm pretty sure ultra beasts aren't around until you've unlocked the post game mission that indicates you should go and find them. You know they are in the area because the music changes slightly.
