Pokémon Pokemon Sun and Moon General Discussion

Ok lmao, that doesn't help me find someone with the two beasts I need. If they want to trade or just let me barrow them then so be it.

Yeah it does. Just put one of the extras in GTS and you should have it in 30 minutes, if not less.

GTS only works on Pokemon you have at least seen.

Are you starting to see my dilemma here?

Maybe I'm wrong but I swear there was an option in Gen VI that allowed you to search for names of Pokemon you haven't seen, and it was carried over to Gen VII. I think it's at the bottom of the list or something?

Hey, what are the catch rates of Solgaleo and Lunala? I just caught Solgaleo with a Great Ball on my first try...

I just bought the game on friday at 1:15 am after standing out in the rain waiting for best buy to open for black friday (everything is closed on thanksgiving) I was able to get the $99 n3ds and I bought pokemon moon to go with it <3

A friend of mine who does a lot of rom stuff showed me PKHex and there is nothing easy about it, by the way. You can't just open the software and add pokemon to the game save, there are lots and lots of steps. Not that I'm defending people using it :/

Jake and ZebraQueen have said it before me, but there is an option to search for a Pokemon's name if you haven't seen it. That feature has been around in previous games as well.

Guys questions
What gonna be easier for me for a shining minoir (because all of them are black do IL just count it as one)
S.o.s chaining or hatching
And how will I know it's shiny if I do hatching:/
Also do I need to break the shell if I want to know it's shiny?

I agree with you, there are numerous steps. This doesn't equate to difficulty however. The hardest part is finding a way to get HomeBrew onto your system, but installing it is easy with the numerous guides all over YouTube. After that, here is the break down of steps to editing your save file:

  1. Backup your save file onto your SD card
  2. Take out your SD card and place it into an SD card reader on your computer
  3. Open up PKHeX (installed just as you would any other program on your computer) then open up the save file on your SD card
  4. Create a basic template for Pokemon that can be bred. Save this as a PK6 on your computer and use it whenever you want to make a new Pokemon. Saving a template will nullify a majority of the steps it takes to create a new Pokemon, so it actually is just like opening up the software and adding the Pokemon to the game save.
    Main
    Species: Pidgey
    Country: Your Own
    3DS Region: Your Own

    Met
    Origin Game: Your Own
    Met Location: Battle Resort
    Met Level: 1
    As Egg: Box checked in
    Location: Day Care Helpers

    Stats
    IVS: All 31

    Attacks
    Current Moves: Tackle
Relearn Moves: Tackle (This is where you place your egg moves as well)

    OT/Misc
Trainer Information: Your Own (Loading a save file should already have these filled in with your information if I'm not mistaken)
    Latest OT: Leave blank

    Memories/Amie
    Memory Type: {0} hatched from an egg and saw {1} for the first time at... {2}. {4} that {3}
    Area: a battling spot
    Intensity: the Pokemon remembers
    Feeling: it was happy

Reroll the encryption constant and PID only after you do all of this.
Make everything the same as the breedables template but do the following:
If legendary; check to make sure it isn't shiny locked before making shiny, check in faithful encounter, uncheck as egg, bare minimum of 3 31IVS.
Current Level is equal to or higher than Met Level
Met location is where the Pokemon is encountered
    Uncheck the As Egg box
Change memories/amie information to "went to the Pokemon Center in <area appropriate for game> with trainer and had its tired body healed there"

Use Serebii.net to check for met location and encounter level.

Reroll the encryption constant and PID
  5. Now you only have to edit minor details like species, nature, ball type, and relearn (egg moves) whenever you want to make a new Pokemon
  6. Always reroll the encryption constant and PID after editing a Pokemon
  7. Right click on an empty square in the PC box and click "Set" to put your new Pokemon in that PC tile
  8. Export your edits onto the SD card, replacing the save data backed up onto it
  9. Place SD card back into 3DS then overwrite save data on cartridge

See how easy it is to create a Pokemon in PKHeX? There is no reason for them to be charging Ditto for more than any other Pokemon, especially when you can save templates that let you automatically load up Pokemon that you have already made before.

I really hate the mechanic of a specific fishing spot -.- and it has some % for some of the Pok?mon -.-
I just want to have the dratini to s.o.s. dragonite

soft reset a 31/0/31/30/7/31 timid lunala. the 0 atk is the best thing about it

LOL it's clearly meant to be. That special defense though ._.

I agree -- once the first hurdle (of homebrew) is all set, it seems quite easy. Ah well.

On a similar note I lost an interest in distinguishing legitimately bred and generated pokemon a while ago. I put hours of effort into breeding, while others just spent a few minutes tinkering with numbers and producing the same result. Not very motivating so I don't breed my own pokemon anymore, I'd rather pay someone to do it for me. Most of those people probably don't actually breed them. I stopped caring lol.

What are some good pokemon that can learn steel or poison type moves? I'm looking for some fairy counters and that would be useful.

Toucannon can learn flash cannon but I don't need more low sp. defense pokemon that are weak to electric, ice and rocks. Toxapex is not useful enough for me to dedicate another water type.

I suppose Salazzle might be worth a shot, since I'm missing fire offense too. If only Nihilego could learn flash cannon.

I'm not sure of the catch rates(the actual numbers), but I can tell you that the cover legendaries are easier to catch this go around. Caught Space Bat in a premier ball on first throw.

I chopped down the easiness of the catch to the fact that Nebby developed a connection to both Lillie and you, so it was comfortable being easily caught

Last option is "what pokemon?" Click that and type the name of pokemon and you'll see it there

Oh. My bad, apologies in that case. Forgot that existed. Why does Game freak do this
