Pokémon Pokemon Sun and Moon General Discussion

Man the ultra beasts are so damn weird. And creepy. I think its the very creative use of design without emphasis on a face. I'm sure pikachu would be terrifying if it had no face too.

From what it seems, the National Pok?Dex isn't even in the game. ._. https://www.reddit.com/r/pokemon/comments/5cdv6z/so_apparently_there_is_no_national_pokedex_in_sun/
Instead, it looks like a new feature is being added to Pok?Bank that will allow you to view the National Dex within the application. http://www.pokemon-sunmoon.com/en-au/pokemon-bank/ Near the bottom. Hopefully Sun and Moon is patched to have the National Dex in it as well, when Pok?Bank is updated in January.

Smogon reports that a Pok?mon bred with stats boosted through Bottle Caps will still pass down their original IVs. It is under the FAQs section on the main post, everything is in separate spoilers (except the FAQs so don't worry about coming across anything that might ruin your SM experience. http://www.smogon.com/forums/thread...on-sun-and-moon-mine-resource-thread.3586425/

I wouldn't know where to look for the other two things since the only other places I haven't checked are places that contain story spoilers.

Also, I am glad someone else cares about what type of ball their Pok?mon is bred in. The entire reason why I bothered catching genderless Pok?mon in XY not too long ago was because I was hoping Game Freak did something like this for SM. If it is true, I can finally breed for my Dusk Ball shiny Golurk and Bronzong, as well as my Premier Ball shiny Metagross.

Still doesn't say where bottle caps can be gotten from :\ Ah well. I guess that it's okay that they pass down their original IVs so long bottle caps aren't too much a pain to get.

I personally don't give a **** about what ball the pokemon is bred in. I just wanted it changed because I thought it was stupid only female pokemon could pass it down.

I find it *very* odd that the National Dex wouldn't be in-game to begin with. I hope that they do give us some sort of reward for it.

The one with giant pillar hands actually has a very tiny derp face if you look close enough. Two of the eyes are on the green part that forms the "hair" just below the spike, and the mouth is just below that on the white right above its thin and long neck. Aside from that, four of them don't have faces... and yes it is pretty weird. I've always been a fan of the more bizarre looking designs though (such as Bronzong), so I love every single one of the Ultra Beasts.

I am so glad that genderless and male Pokemon can pass on balls now. Collecting genderless Pokemon in specific balls in hearthold isn't such a waste now!

I'm very disappointed...

THE NEW SHINY ANIMATION SUCKS HOW COULD THEY DO THIS TO ME

HOW TO GET BOTTLE CAPS

>Bottle Caps can be obtained by trading Red/Blue/Green/Yellow Shards with a guy at the Festival Plaza. Shards can be obtained from the Pelago (the island thing when you store pokemon in PC)

The TL;DR: edition:

IVs:
>To Hyper Train, you need a Bottle Cap and a Pokemon at level 100
>There are two types of Bottle Caps, one which max out one stat and one which maxes out all stats
>Hyper Training doesn't actually set IVs to 31, it instead sets a flag that makes the game treat all IVs as 31, meaning that the ORIGINAL HIDDEN POWER IS KEPT
>In other words, a Hyper Trained Ditto is not a 31 IV Ditto and will use the old imperfect IVs when bred
>Bottle Caps can be obtained by trading Red/Blue/Green/Yellow Shards with a guy at the Festival Plaza. Shards can be obtained from the Pelago.
>"hurr durr no blissey bases how do I get to level 100" - Levels can be raised using most of the same features that raise EVs (Plaza, Pelago) described below

EVs - The Poke Pelago (PASSIVELY TRAIN EVS WHILE YOU SLEEP OR DO SOMETHING ELSE)
>At the third and final upgrade, Isle Evelup has 3 groups. Each group can have up to 6 Pokemon each and each group can focus on training one stat at a time.
>WITHOUT Poke Beans, each group gains 4 EVs every 30 minutes (8 EVs per hour or 31 and a half hours to max a stat).
>WITH Poke Beans, each group gains 4 EVs every 15 minutes (16 EVs per hour or 15 and a half hours to max a stat).
>You can set the precise interval you want to train if you want to reach a specific final EV.

I tried the demo and was not impressed at all. I felt like I was playing a game being marketed towards edgy 10 year old gangsters and/or hipsters. The music during the battle against Team Whocares was incredibly cringe inducing and I don't see why they wanted me to take pictures of Pokemon so bad.

Thats exactly the point. The evil team is so over the top that they don't seem that menacing. I guess GF did their job right :>

so do the ivs register for competitive battles?

You know

I really wonder why they have Anabel of all people returning.

I guess it's okay because I only know bits and pieces of spoilers.

This should answer your question so if you don't want spoilers I suggest you don't open it

So in the main story, only UB-01 is directly involved. An Ultra Wormhole was opened, allowing other UBs to enter Poke world.

In post game, Looker meets with you and Kukui to hunt down UBs together. And apparently Anabel, one of the Frontier Brains, is a Faller alien from another world, a human who comes from Ultra Wormhole, brought in to help with investigating UBs. They form the UB Taskforce.

Apparently you guys can't take it that she's an alien so here's the text

"Faller...That is what the International Police calls them. Humans who appear from an Ultra Wormhole... and those who are bathed in a great deal of the energy that pours out from them. She had come through a wormhole. She was from another world. And she was put on our team to help draw the UB to us..."

okay maybe she came from the no-mega r/s/e universe?

"She had lost most of her memories, but four things she could tell us. That her name was Anabel... That she came from the Hoenn region... That she had protected some tower there... And that she was a powerful Trainer..."

The UBs didn't come to the world by choice. So they go where a wormhole could appear in hopes of returning home. Anabel has strong Ultra Wormhole energy surrounding her, therefore she acts as a UB bait in the taskforce.

Wicke also joins the team. Wicke can be found at Aether Paradise, while Looker seems to be moving from island to island as UB story progresses. And you catch UBs using Beast Ball, secretly created by Aether Foundation, mentioned as very expensive to buy.

During UB-05 event, Anabel is hurt. Looker mentioned that you are actually a Faller too since you passed through a Wormhole during Lusamine event. You become the bait for UB-05, the final UB in the arc.

Also, you can get UB backgrounds once you catch them and talk to Wicke. Only UB-02 to UB-05 is involved in this arc. Necrozma seems to be an event Pokemon. Might not be UB.

This also makes a little more sense given the fact that black pokemon that has just been revealed
[from Serebii]
"one mysterious black Pok?mon which it says is a big mystery, and asks what it has to do with Solgaleo & Lunala"

Well i don't know about you guys, but I'm so hyped since there is only 3 more days until Sun and Moon arrives. And the moment I buy it, I'm going to open it, I'm going to sniff the cartridge, and play it.
