Title says it all! I'm sure there will be a couple of added ways, but these are the main I could think of.

I'll prob do a combination of this in the beginning to get on my feet:
~ Foreign Fruits
~ Fossils (IF museum is available)

Then:
~ Turnips (65%)
~ Catching bugs (35%)

You forgot fishing! I relied on fishing for making bells so much back in the good ol' days of the GCN version.

probably through fishing and bug catching, for the most part; i’ll save one of each new bug and fish i catch to donate to blathers once i can but after that, its fair game lol

really? I didn't put it because so many people claimed fishing was slow and tedious at making bells. I assumed nobody did it for bells :) Thanks for letting me know!

Bug, Fish, Foreign Fruit and Turnips. Fossils after I've donated them first, sell extras.

i plan to make money with fruits, trading, and fishing. i might dabble in turnips (i didn't in previous games), and if beetle farming is a thing again then i may do that from time to time to get big amounts of bells.

Before I knew that beetle hunting on the island was the optimal way to make money in NL I would always do fishing, always felt like I wasn't seeing enough bugs whereas there was always fish blobs in the water. Now I'll probably do combination bugcatching/fishing and then gamble those profits on turnips.
I'll even buy daisy mae's turnips when they're overpriced just to support her

I’ll start with the catching bugs/fish in the beginning to sell turnips late in the game because you know you can find high turnip prices as soon as New Horizons releases.

Bug catching during the summer of course...I also want to do turnips this game since they really were not all that useful in New Leaf.

Mainly fishing and bug catching I'd say. Then selling off anything additional I don't need.

I've actually never done turnips before... I want to try it this time! But also fruit/bugs/fish/whatever.

If they work like New Leaf, Dazzabound on YouTube has a video on Turnips that is extremely well made and will teach you everything you need to know to predict their prices.

Turnips aren't very difficult to manage and they're a great way to earn Bells, so why refuse to make use of it?

I'm aware of how it works.

I made ten million in NL.

I didn't like buying, storing, or selling.

It's a personal choice.

Probably mainly fossils and bug catching bc that's how I made bells before I did tbt conversion!
And turnips!! I gotta support my girl Daisy Mae

Fish, hopefully beetles show up on palm trees because I’d be so in my bag.

Turnips! TBT will be great for finding good prices, hopefully ^^ we'll see how the dynamics work and if they've changed the process at all

Human animal trafficking. /s

Probably turnips and bugs/fish
