POLL: Is human cloning wrong?

It's stupid. It's impressive we can do that sorta thing, but that person is always gonna have the "original" person in their shadow, and people will expect them to have similar interests and traits. It's so dumb. I know if I was a clone I wouldn't be interested in it.

I was against cloning, then one day I came home to see a man who looked like me stood in my house with my wife eating my birthday cake.

After around an hour and thirty minutes of a action packed plot where I teamed up with myself to take down an evil corporation and came to the stunning conclusion that I was the clone all along, I now give a thumbs up to cloning. 10/10.

It would be cool. I don't see whats wrong with it

um everything. Do you not know the process? I think everyone who voted no doesn't know what happens. They have to 1. get a live cell from the person you want to clone by getting a piece of your skin. 2. They have to get empty eggs from a woman, which means doing surgery and getting the eggs from her ovaries. 3. Once they get the egg they inject the DNA from the live skin cell. 4. They have to shock the eggs like if it was "sperm" so that its fertile. 5. They have to open up another woman and insert the egg that is fertile inside her ovaries, making her pregnant. Obviously this isn't humane. Everyone who voted no thinks its like in cartoons where one person goes into a machine and a clone comes out .-.

also if the cloning didn't work they have to do it on another surrogate mother which means opening up another woman

Why is there option: "it's against gods will"?

There are a variety of other reasons for each of those choices.

I'm against it as there is already to many Human beings and tbh we should be getting rid of as many of us as possible, I don't give a **** about any fake deity.

thats kinda rude haha.....

I don't know, but I don't see how it's against God's will.

i think it's supposed to be like "playing god" and that would go against his will, i suppose. idk.

anyways, personally i dont see the point in it. i dont know of any real pros to it except having a "family member" back if you clone them but whats the point if its not really them?

I don't give a **** about any fake deity.
... that's a supremely harsh and insensitive way to put it.

I'm so happy that technology these days is making leaps and bounds- the fact that human cloning isn't impossible is really astounding! But it doesn't feel right cloning humans... or anything for that matter. It's just not the same as when it comes alive naturally. Everything should be different and unique, not literal carbon copies of their originals.

I'm a clone(twin)

But in all honesty, I don't know. It's like a twin process but you're a baby.

There are enough people on the planet already, but cloning organs and tissues and stuff I am down for that, if you can clone someone a healthy heart to live then that's great, need healthy cells for a cancer patient, clone away. But I see no use in cloning a full human being or any animal for that matter.

I see nothing wrong with it. If we have the technology to try it, why shouldn't we? It's important to advance in science.

Well, my opinion on anything would never come from the Bible or 'God'. But that's another conversation....
I'm unsure on it, really. Don't think I am comfortable with the idea of cloning a person, but on the other hand, it would be interesting from a curiosity/research point of view.
I didn't have any strong reaction when they cloned Dolly the sheep (i think that was the name)....might change my mind if they ever did it to a human. I really think I'd be more interested in the cloned version than disgusted or outraged by it.
After all, there's an awful lot of things that science has allowed us to do that 'goes against gods will', if that is an argument from anyone.

uh i didn't vote in the poll because i didn't rly feel like my opinion fits.

it is cool that cloning can happen, but i can definitely see why it isn't legal. cloning is only about the DNA, right? there are people in real life already who have the same DNA (identical twins), but that rly doesn't make them into the same people. what makes a person themself is a lot of things, both dna and then uh a bunch of stuff that happens to u in life.

and idk if this is suuper related, but if the motive behind the cloning is to get Supreme Genes i'm a bit :/// about it because, like, idk but i think it's wrong to try to make super humans by modifying their genes and then cloning them.

It can have its uses, but to recreate an entire person- I don't support it. This world is overpopulated as it is.

However, for medical uses, it could be quite useful. If it's possible to create humans using it, then, if I understand things correctly, then it's likely possible to just recreate organs and things of the sort for transplants rather than relying on organ donors.

I'm not familiar with the concept, but if that isn't possible, I don't really support it because of overpopulation.

Well, We could experiment on them testing humans, searching for cures to deadly diseases, testing weapons on humans, infinite blood and organ donations for people in need, workers who will work without pay, cockfighting competitions, manufacturing business and Those are reasons why human cloning would be a major breakthrough in science.

I don't really give a flying monkey's bollocks what god's will is, human cloning is just unethical, but maybe in the future that might change.

I'm torn for animals, as there's science for cloning them and animals can be almost successfully cloned. Snuppy's still alive and healthy. Some British couple just cloned their dog for ?67,000. I don't even have a fraction of that in me bank account lmao.

You could argue that giving birth is actually just cloning. But that's just a theory. A GAME EXISTENTIAL THEORY.

While I'm not a believer of god or think even if there was one that they would give a lick about what we do, I also agree that isn't unethical. As visibleghost said, I'm pretty sure cloning is all about copying DNA. If someone with your DNA is running around committing crimes it could end in the noncriminal serving time due to DNA evidence.

Because that's what a major part of the population believes.

Memories, personality, etc would be impossible.

Not necessarily. Memories are only electrical interactions in your brain. It is definitely possible.
