Editing- Once you get 41 posts, or Fruit, you will be able to edit.

Poll Making- When you reach 4444 posts and become a Fruit Tree, you will be able to make your own poll. The number is a bit too high, so expect it to be lowered sometime
Deleting- The staff has not yet decided if we will give normal members the power to delete. If we do let them delete, it will probably be in a pretty high rank.

Do you think the poll post count requirement should be lowered?

Look at it this way, the only people on TBT that can make topics with polls are Staff, Sages, and Propaganda Man. Not a lot of people.

It should, because really, for most people, 2 1/2+ years should pass until you can actually get to this power. And I asked a admin this, and it was just something that you have to work your way up to. It could at least be lowered to 2,000 to 3,000 posts.

Anyway, this site is already gives members lots of slack, so a little disatisfaction with the polls is a small obstacle.

The poll I made about sig height was deleted and I was warned (warned verbally) and then banned later (for 5 days...so I missed 5 days of pier).

@ZF: no because yeah that, and because I don't think it needs to be shortened, the power will get overabused just like how I abuse the opening/lock power of the sages sometimes.

I guess its a matter of trust in TBTs members. I can see your point. If you can't trust yourself in some privileges why should you trust others in theirs?

It should be lowered, but not free or at a post count that you could just spam to get to... Maybe somewhere in the 1500 or 2000 range.

Well, you make polls every so often, so you don't abuse that power, however imagine every member making a poll as often as you there would be polls all over.

I hardly make polls. Of all my posts since 4444 I can honestly say that less than 50 are polls.

Thats still too high. Make it in the hundreds at least. Maybe 500 or 555.

That is absolutely ridiculous. Polls are rarely used as it is by those that have the ability. You guys are worrying over nothing.

I have less than 25 polls made. I have 3 times as many locked topics. There is no reason to believe that members will abuse the poll feature at all. 1,000 posts can take over a year for some members and really isn't fair. To some 500 may seem low but it has taken me over a month to get to 200 let alone 500. Any other forum I have seen that lets polls be given away from the start has not had an abusing problem. The only time I see a lot of them is in IFSZ's debate forum where the poll gives a good idea of the amount on one side and the amount on the other. You guys are acting like polls are chocolate and that people will eat it too much and become fat. Polls are just polls, the only thing they can do is help get a general idea of what the forum thinks. If someone makes a poll such as "Do you like dogs" that would be in the Wishing Well, and that isn't really meant for discussions. Its meant for chatting more or less.
