I eat them as is, straight out of the wrapper. I never really thought about the crust but I definitely don't mind it if I'm still eating pop-tarts with no problem. My favorite flavors are strawberry, raspberry and cherry. I think everything else such as chocolate, cupcake, coffee and cinnamon is just too weird. I think of pop-tarts as fruit pastries and should primarily be as such.
Pop-tarts used to be my main go-to snack but now I'm eating less and less of it. I'm not as drawn to them as I used to be. Now I mainly go for Ritz bitz cheese crackers if I want something to munch on.
like some others have said, i'll usually eat the crust first and then eat the middle since that's the best bit. or i'll eat along the top, and when i get about halfway through i'll eat the sides + bottom before finishing the middle bit - either way i've gotta end with the filling and not just crust on its own!
I have not had a Pop-tart in a long while, but when I do I usually start with the crust end with the crust. So yes to crust. I prefer my Pop-tarts cold though rather than hot.
I usually get the S'mores,Pretzel or Chocolate Pop Tarts and to me, the crust seems to be softer with those flavors than with the regular fruit flavored Pop Tarts so ,yeah I eat the crust.
I only get Pop-Tarts on very rare occasions, but when I do, I eat the entire thing. I just eat all the crust first and then when it's all gone I can move onto the pastry. Just on a personal level, I feel like getting rid of the crust would be wasteful, plus I don't think it's that bad. Others can do as they want though.
These days, I don't consume Poptarts anymore, since they always have high fructose corn syrup* and just too much damn sugar, but when I did (although it was still rarely), I always ate them with the crust.
*The main Poptarts brand usually always does, but there does exist some organic Poptarts from other, lesser-known brands.
