Preorder or buy day of release?

I keep meaning to pre-order because I can only imagine the game stores being swamped and running out of stock

Whether or not I've actually pre-ordered yet is another story-

It was pre-ordered for me as a birthday present, given how NH just happens to release on my birthday.

I also preordered from Gamestop and will be there when it opens on the 20th.

So excited!

Preordered from target, so it’s being delivered (dunno if it’s on release or not)

I pre-ordered it at EBGAMES, but I will be picking it up in store the day it is released. I will be paying for it before hand to so they don't end up giving my copy away if I can't get in until after work. I just like to pre-order in case they don't order enough copies. I also pre-ordered an Animal Crossing switch case that has the same picture on it as the game does. They both release on the same day, so I am hoping to pick them both up at the same time.

If it's something I'm planning on getting the day it's released, I always preorder. I'm not really sure what the stocking situatuon is like when it comes to how many preorders vs regular copies for sale but I would hate to plan on getting something and it ends up they didn't have it because I didn't preorder it:(

Pre-ordered it from Gamestop and will be picking it up on release day in the morning while my family and I are out doing other things in town, so I'll be playing it that afternoon. Can't wait!
