I just bought the app tonight; I’ve been using ibisPaint X. I just tried to use it but I’m feeling a bit overwhelmed, so I was wondering if anyone had any tips on how to get familiar with the program?

I thought It’d be not much different from IbisPaint; I haven’t exactly mastered this program but I’m familiar with some of the tools at least.

I went to draw a simple circle and noticed i only have automatic (no idea what that is), freehand, rectangle and ellipse. When I draw an ellipse there is no lines. I’m not sure how to draw it with lines and where to find other tools to draw a line or other shapes.

Question for those that use Apple Pencil:

It connected and charges when I stick it at the bottom of my ipad but not with my ipad cord. Any idea why it won’t work when the instructions says it should work? And do I need to order a new cable or something? my ipad is 9th generation and the pencil is 1st generation (it works with my tablet, just has this problem).

Hope you get this sorted asap! If I were in your situation, I'd be clicking on every single little thing until I knew what it was for. But I'm chaotic so that's probably not helpful lol.

Maybe there's youtube videos that can teach you what everything does?

Thanks! There are definitely videos; I rather not look at videos if I don’t have to. I mean, I will have to eventually look at some videos to learn to improve or to get better at the program. I rather look at text and pictures than videos. It usually is easier for me to learn that way. But, since I think a few people here use the program, I figured it wouldn’t hurt to ask for suggestions or recommendations on how to learn without getting overwhelmed, or what to look at first. Or just how they got use to the program.

A video won’t help me figure out the apple pencil problem though. I might need to get a different cord, but I’m not sure what yet. Apple support faqs isn’t helping me. Don’t want to contact them if possible because too much bad experience with their support.

Ohhhhh gotcha. I'm not familiar with drawing on tablets, so I wasn't sure if that program is popular enough where people would upload videos. I can understand preferring text since you can look back on it quicker. That makes sense! You'll be great at this thing soon enough 🎨
