I don’t have HHP yet, but I feel like I’d forget this. This must be stickied! Lol has anyone ever turned off their console while their gates were open? Sleep mode can ruin the save as well.

I know I’ve forgotten my gates were open on numerous occasions.

Still awaiting a response. I know that there are around 2 mods online but I don’t think they’re in that department. I feel like we need a pinned glitches thread. Maybe in all of the game forums. But let’s start with acnh specifically because this is the most recent glitch. There may be more. Especially with how huge the update was. I mean the features not the file size ofc. Nintendo are masters of file shrinking.

I'm really slow with the dlc so it will be fixed by the time I can even get to that point anyway. This is kind of crazy. Imagine if Nintendo refused to give us cloud backup saves until we pestered them enough times?

So what happens if you redecorate their rooms and then later open your island? Will it still screw stuff up?

Oh wow, thanks for posting this! Don't have my gates open often but it's good to be careful from now on. I'm going through HHP very slowly so hopefully things get fixed and patched before I reach that point of customization.

Thanks for the warning, so far I haven't unlocked that ability yet.

I did not see this posted anywhere and wanted to mention it in case anyone is not aware. Nintendo tweeted that you should not remodel villager houses on your island while your gate is open until the game has been patched. So make sure your gate is closed before using this feature. I have seen people on YouTube claiming that this bug has corrupted their save file. Nintendo says that the bug will not affect your save file. Not knowing who to believe, I thought I would post this here to be safe, so that we could all avoid risking our games until the patch comes out.

It’s great that the word is getting out, so don’t apologize. The more people aware of this, the better. People won’t see this on the second page. That’s why it should be an announcement. I know there were times I forgot my gates were open. This will let people know to be more cautious.
