Guest, can you feel the love in the air? Valentine's Week at The Bell Tree has begun with a new mini-event featuring four activities to enjoy -- new and returning collectibles are up for grabs! Dive in to the love here.
For some reason, I think poki are a better deal than bells for items. I don’t think that’s true, but I still prefer to buy with poki, especially for lower cost items. However, if the yacht were to show up for sell in my nook shopping, I would buy it in a heartbeat. It’s taking me forever to save up the poki for that thing!
Poki is faster to earn and you can directly choose the variation you want. When I buy from my catalog, since I only have one variation, I still have to go to Cyrus to customize it, which costs bells. So might as well go with Poki.
I bought the yacht and cars with bells as soon as I saw them. Between the storage upgrades and the expensive vehicles, I think I'm almost out of money!
I prefer to use bells, just because I've been saving up bells since the game came out. Plus, I spend too much time per house to be able to easily earn poki, especially since doing the main game chores takes up most of my playtime.
Yeah, I also prefer to buy stuff with Poki, I am constantly going broke in bells since I use it for trades/bridges/inclines and just generally renovating my island. By comparison, Poki is a far more plentiful currency that is easier to obtain for me. Lottie gives out so many of them every time I decorate a house which is just awesome. I still use both, it just depends on what nooks has, what hhp has and what I can trade for with alternate currency (although not with nmt, never have any).
I just bought from both catalogs every day while I was working towards ordering everything I needed to get recolored for my actual catalog, lol. I'd say if you have to choose between the two, Wardell's catalog is better if only because Poki are generally used less than bells, so you're able to conserve more of your bells that way.
I can never seem to save up more than 50k Poki at one time, so I usually don’t buy items that cost more than 20k. I like using my poki to buy cheaper items in multiples, like wheat field or simple panels, so I can use my IGB to buy other things for the daily item limit.
I prefer to pay in bells. I TT so I don’t mind jumping several days in one sitting. It’s difficult for me to earn Poki because of the whole interior design thing. I’m not good at it but I’m also a perfectionist. It’s normal for me to take about 20 min. on one house, and then stop for the night.

I play HHP with all 3 of my characters, but I only seriously design with mine. The others I just open the boxes and I'm done. But yeah, I can only get one house done a day. Sometimes I just go over to see what's for sale, get my DIY, and leave.
