QUESTION About Closing Gates

Hey! I've noticed that when I go to other people's towns, they are able to close their gates from where they are standing and do not have to go inside their train station to do it. How is this possible/is it even possible?

Hey! I've noticed that when I go to other people's towns, they are able to close their gates from where they are standing and do not have to go inside their train station to do it. How is this possible/is it even possible?

The host can pause and it will bring up the menu that lets them do this. And for future reference, there is an ACNL Questions thread in the ACNL General section of the forums for questions like these.

If you’re asking how to pause while online and with someone over or leaving, you can press the “start” button on your system, and it will bring up a menu to either “end the multiplayer session,” “save,” or “cancel” I believe. I hope this helps.

Most people like to do this to end quick trades, especially if they are not expecting any other visitors in a row. I personally always “end session” using that method to make it faster, unless I agree on letting them roam around town for a bit after the trade :>
