Question about fencing

A few days ago I obtained some simple wooden fencing and built a fence around my house to create a garden. Having used all of this fencing up I would like some more of it but I can't remember if it was something I bought at the Nook Stop with Nook Miles or if I had to use Nook Miles to buy the DIY recipe to make it. Either way I haven't seen it for sale at the Nook Stop again since and if it was the DIY recipe for it I bought, i don't have it any more cos it's not in my recipes app on my Nook phone. Can anyone help please?

You got the fencing from Nook himself, he gifts you 50 pieces of it.

There are fences you can buy from the nook shop but I have yet to see the fence he gifts you in it

The first batch of fencing you receive from Tom Nook is free, though he doesn't give you a recipe for it. You can keep checking the Nook Stop's Nook Miles section each day to see if the recipe for it eventually shows up. I've seen a couple of repeats (sometimes on two days in a row), but I've yet to see a recipe for that one in particular so far.

That'd be great if you don't mind! Do I just put in the Switch code below your username to get to your island? (Sorry if that sounds stupid but I haven't visited a friend's island yet in this game so not sure).

I'm not sure if you're aware, but I don't think you can use Nook terminals on other islands! So to get the recipe, an island resident will have to buy it for you and trade it to you.

The nook fencing is not the same as the one he gave you?

There are different kinds of fencing, so you can buy other styles from the nook shop in addition to the kind he gifts you

I'm not sure if you're aware, but I don't think you can use Nook terminals on other islands! So to get the recipe, an island resident will have to buy it for you and trade it to you.

You can't use other people's nook machines, sadly. (Which is terrible because it makes trading bells a pain now that you can't access it like you did the ABD in new leaf)
