Question about usernames

alrighty so I've been meaning to change my username for a while now and since I've gotten the seashells I've been able to purchase the name change.
my question is, can we not have spaces or periods in usernames anymore?
because I want to change my name to Milk but pretty sure that's taken I just really don't want to waste it or anything.

You could try a user search to see if anything comes up. Also, if you do try to change your username, but everything is taken, you can try getting a refund from the mods. I don't see why it'd be a problem if you didn't use the change.

When I changed my username just recently I tried making it K a y K a y but it wouldn't allow the spaces. It also doesn't allow any of the following (, . - _ ^ ! *) Not sure if it was just being strange that day or not but it didn't allow me to enter anything of the sort.. So, I went with KayKay without the spaces ;-;

When signing up, your username can have spaces or periods. When changing your username, you can't add spaces or periods. When I changed my username to Justina it was taken. I went to change it to Justina. . Didn't work. So I used a comma

This rule must be recent as I signed up as ccemuka, but got a name change to C r y s t a l. I'd ask a member of staff to get a more clear/ direct answer on this.

There's not a rule that spaces or periods can't be used in usernames. The item purchased through the shop is currently preventing certain symbols, but we are looking into it.

It was just a glitch on my end! There is nothing preventing the input of spaces and such, it's just glitch sometimes I guess ^.^ But I got my username changed!!!
