So, I know that a year+ ago there was some issue with TBT being swamped with people advertising Discord servers, and as a result, advertising them outside of signatures or the Discord/Chat Group Directory Thread was disallowed. However, I have some concerns and was wondering if anyone could address them.
First of all, the Discord/Chat Group Directory Thread is pretty dead. Many of those discord servers listed are now gone/invalid, and the newer servers posted have not been added to the master list. The thread is not being maintained much, if at all.
Second, I have seen a few people make some advertising threads on the Train Station thread. Not many, (maybe 2 within the past two months), but unlike a year + ago, those threads were not locked by a moderator. Of course, that never by any stretch means that it is allowed, but I am wondering if there has been any sort of change of the rules concerning advertising?
In the end, the only reason I care is I have a server with a couple of buddies of mine, but I've stuck to the rule of advertising it in my signature. I'm fine sticking to that, but it would be nice to have another method to share our server with others.
