So I?m hearing about rumors that a reveal is coming soon. At the same time, I looked at the predictions of what games are to be included on the N64 Classic. We know that the Rare titles are not going to make it due to licensing issues, as well as the Star Wars games. But they have not made any comment about Pokemon Stadium as a possible game to be on the N64 Classic. If Pokemon Stadium and Pokemon Stadium 2 has no licensing issues, why aren?t they likely titles to make it to the N64 Classic and why aren?t they even mentioned as games that?s unlikely going to make it to the N64 Classic? Almost no predictions predict that these games are going to be on the N64 Classic.

Not being able to transfer in your own Pok?mon makes those games obsolete I guess

Maybe the people just overlooked it? I didn't think that Stadium and Stadium 2 were that popular or well-known.

why the everloving **** would you want to go through the stadium's battle modes with the trash rental pokemon, only to be rewarded with prizes you can't even claim or do anything with?

if we got a gameboy classic or they announced functionality to connect to the virtual console versions of the mainline gen 1-2 games, then sure, maybe. but as is, I really see no point

idk how you think first games ever to allow you to watch your pokemon battle in a fully rendered 3d arena with "live" commentary wasn't all that popular

especially when this was during the period pokemon was at its peak of popularity

hell, our first stadium was actually japan's stadium 2, and japan's first stadium only had 42/151 pokemon available to use. that's kinda how big a deal it was at the time

I guess they could do a GB Classic or 3DS virtual console compatibility. But then again, it is possible to beat the game using only rental Pokemon. It’ll be just tough.

Other than that, it can be a family game, where you can battle others’ Pokemon. And they have a mini-game section, which makes the game worth playing.

^ Meh. We'd be better off with Mario Kart 64, Mario Party 2, Super Smash Bros, and such like that for family games.

Yes, the rental Pokemon exist, but Stadium is way more fun when you can use your own Pokemon.

What about Mario Party 1? I never seen that on any speculation or virtual console?

And I hear that Smash is one of those oddball franchises like Animal Crossing where each new entry invalidates the rest. There wouldn’t be a point in Smash 64 with Smash Ultimate coming out on Switch.

time to abuse the **** out of gen 1 freeze mechanics

tbh, just combine the minigames from stadium and stadium 2 into their own unique quasi-new game

smash 64 is probably like the most radically different of all smash games tbh, so I could see it making it in due to that, plus the modest content size. not to mention that it allows for some genre diversity for the "system"

honestly with the n64 classic, the biggest problem I have thinking up games for it is third party titles that are both available and not hot garbage. not to mention, even the first party lineup feels rather lackluster compared to other stuff. with plenty of notable things having been remade as well

the 64 really feels like that start of nintendo's streak of great first party, but garbage third party lineup systems

though then again it can't be that hard to beat the playstation classic if that's all they're going for. because holy wow that lineup was pretty abysmal, and I can only see that living or dying based on the ability to hack in other games

at the end of it all though, early 3d games era just isn't very good in any capacity. pretty much any games from that time that have been remade end up better in the remakes overall, even if small individual preferences such as graphical design or direction may vary between the versions

I'd love if they added that one Tetris game in it, would they make such a home console. I doubt it though unless someone gets the brilliant idea last minute.

Also MK64 (like, untouched leave in the glitches PLEASE) would be nice but meh considering all the DLC and stuff for later installments, nah.

Sadly yeah, and I never played the VC one for whatever that console was... Just the dumb updated 8 versions of some tracks.

Also re glitches you could literally drive into walls and appear in lava, Yoshi Valley was brutal as hell, Rainbow Road you could skip like half of the track if you jumped in the right place etc etc.

Why would you want Mario Party when you have Mario Party 3 with a fun story mode and new characters wtf

Mario Party 3 is also a bit of a rare game so being able to play it like that would be great

Mario Kart 64 controls horribly, the visuals are ugly not because of hardware but because of horrible art direction and the CPU races are so unfair to the point that the game stops being fun. If you want a fun racer for N64 play Diddy Kong Racer!

N64 Classic/Mini rumor was debunked by a Reggie interview recently.

That’s what I heard. After all, these rumors are FAKE NEWS! I was even hoping that they weren’t true.

But I do wish Nintendo can re-release the old N64 games in some way. They won’t do Virtual Console.

Anyway, I think this thread served its purpose. Time to throw the lock on!
