Why do people say "bump" when they are selling stuff???

Bump stand for Bring Up My Post. It's what people say sometimes when they push their topic to the top of the board, and hopefully find someone to buy what they are selling.

I thought the exact same thing. It works both ways and they both mean the same thing.

Me too. I've been bumping threads on various forums for years. I always meant that I was literally bumping it to the top. LOL
