Quick campsite question

Do amiibo need to be invited 3 separate days or does it HAVE to be 3 days in a row? I want to invite someone but I want to terraform a bit first before I do it. Is it possible to "prep" them for 2 days and then scan them in when I'm ready to invite them since itll be their 3rd day? Or do I need to wait until i can do it 3 days in a row?

Just the third time they are invited, it doesn't have to be 3 days in a row. You can have other campers inbetween too.
