Oh my gosh I hope this is in the right board. *sweats* First part is sort of a story-ish? But there's a question.
So I didn't know what the heck Animal Crossing was until my lil' cousin got New Leaf. She let me create a resident profile, I found it fun, just not worth the fuss. (I only played for like 10 minutes) My first AC game was actually Happy Home Designer, which I loved. One day, we switched games for an hour and I was hooked. I begged my Mom to buy it and she did! Eventually I found out about the old games, the ones on the OG DS, GameCube and wii. And I was upset! I could've been playing AC games my whole childhood! I still have my Wii. Today at GameStop, I was in the Nintendo section like always, when I turned around and saw the (old) Wii game shelf. My eyes went straight to the AC logo. City Folk.
So should I buy it?? It's an old game, but I've never played it and I could experience what I missed. It's cheap too. What do you guys think??

I found Animal Crossing: City Folk game great, mainly because it was the first game I play in the AC series. I haven't really gone back to playing that version because of one of my favourite villagers moving out. I still recommend playing the game, as I found it fun and enjoyable. But, it's all what you want to do. This is just my two cents.

I think you should. City folk was one of my favorite games to play on the wii. All of the old games give you an experience that the newer ones (new leaf) don't.

While City Folk isn't my personal favorite AC game, it's worth trying if you haven't played the old games before. Every AC game is different and has its own unique charms, so I say go for it!

I'm getting it! But I still want to see what other peeps think, so I'll leave thus open a while.

I think it was a great game. You'll enjoy it. It'll give you some old AC experience the newer games just don't give you.

I remember I was pretty disappointed with it. To me, its just a glorified Wild World. But honestly, I think Wild World was better. ~
If you really want it, go for it!

I would also recommend you try the GameCube version. Although you are kind of limited on some things, its still my second favorite Animal Crossing game. The villagers are soooo interactive and there's tons of holiday events. I think its funner than City Folk.

I really recommend it. It's very underrated due to the obnoxious, nit-picky Wild World fanboys who love to hate on it just because of grass deteriotion and similar gameplay to Wild World (don't worry, I won't ramble on this time). I actually like this game more than Wild World, and on some days it's sometimes my favourite game in the series. It did introduce grass deteriotion and it's much more common in this game but I'm not really bothered by it. It has the best style in the series (the old simplistic style of GCN and Wild World but updated with rounder character models, smoother textures and very good lighting) in my opinion. I used to own this game but I lost it a few years back and I deleted the data for it a while after I lost it so I know nothing about my old town. I plan on actually buying this game again. It's just that good. Just don't listen to what the whiney Wild World fanboys have to say, that's all. :D
