If you have Fruit on a tree and you dont shake it for the fruit, what will happen to it? will it fall off and rot or does it stay till you pick it?

Just wondering because I don't want rotten fruit to screw up my perfect town rating because I wasn't picking fruit and selling it, I don't prefer this method of making bells.

fruit stays on the tree til you shake it off. it wont rot

It will stay on the tree until you pick it. Rotting would be cool though! It'd make the game a bit more realistic.
