gorgeous island!!
I am a huge fan of the terraforming, you make everything in your town flow so seamlessly (truly is a talent) 😁

Thank you! You're right it is very hard to alter your island to look natural but I'm happy with how it's shaping up. :- )

ıllı City of New Beginnings ıllı

Wow. So I realised I'd neglected this thread but I didn't realise I'd 5 months neglected it. I kind of don't know where to begin now :lemon:.

Notch looks unrecognisable to the last few times I posted. Gone is the tropical forest-y vibe in favour for a colourful urban one. The temptation to fill my island with items was too much and I caved in. We'll start with the map:

We're almost totally covered in paving now and much more squared-off and urban looking. I decided to extend my river opening all the way across horizontally to create the feel of a canal cutting through town. The only nature remaining at the moment is at the bottom right, which is currently a nature hike which is home to my campsite.

There's way too many changes to go through one by one so I'm just gonna use this post as a dumping thread of some nice shots for now! I'll do more updating later:

On the left is one of my residential areas nearby my museum square, and on the right is of my main streets which is filled with stalls and stools and fun :- ). I tried to keep the areas colourful and lively, whilst also having some grit and dirt of modern urban life. There is trash, weeds and scattered papers aplenty in my town and i really think it helps lean to the idea of my town being really lived-in.

Next we have -- of course -- Nook's Cranny on the left, and the area behind on the right, which I've placed a football field in. These pics show better the trashy vibe I'm going for. The space next to Nook's is filled with barbed wire and trash bags, and the football field is overgrowing with weeds and littered with papers. In the background you can see Shep's house with his laundry outside :lemon:.

I'll post more screenshots in the next few days. I probably rushed this post but I just had it in my head that I wanted to give an update here because so much has changed. I recently have gotten back into the game after being very lax for a month or two and I'm head-over-heels obsessed again. It feels great to have inspiration to build and develop my town more and I hope to work on it enough to have my very first Dream Address in the coming months.

Thanks for reading -

Hello -- a little catch up and a new post to say I have a dream address! It's in the photo above and also in the main post. Please feel free to visit, it is still unfinished as I'm finding less and less time to play lately, but I'm very happy with how it is looking. My town's current vibe is a colourful trashy city -- slowly being taken over by rusted sewers and industry B- ). I'm trying to limit how much rust I use, but it's spreading rapidly... :lemon:

Okay okay, I was proud of how i wasn't going too crazy with TTing in this one. But I really hate Animal Crossing winters... so I thought I'd get a headstart on decorating for spring. The rust and industry are being slowly reclaimed by nature, another little chapter in Notch's history. :- )
