Rarest Games you own?

Chibi-robo on gamecube, Fire Emblem Path of Raidance on gamecube
I have both of these oop. So yeah, Path of Radiance is probably my rarest. I think (?) most gamecube games are on the rarer side now, like Pikmin 2, Kirby Air Ride, Thousand-Year Door.... there's a lot of interesting games there to collect.
Currently the rarest game I own is Last Window: The Secrets of Cape West.

I got it for probably $40-ish USD if I recall correctly on Ebay several years ago but now it’s jumped to $100~ USD and is super hard to find.

Reason for this is because it’s part of a now defund series that was discontinued due to the original developers being bankrupt all the way back in 2010. It is currently now owned by Nintendo is its likely we’ll never see a sequel of the game ever.
I just started playing Hotel Dusk a few days ago! I've been meaning to play it for years, but I didn't know a sequel existed. Although, it looks like it never released in NA so I guess that explains it.

Forgot that l own Mother 3 which was only release in Japan l think that's what my brother said. don't remember
Mother 3 isnt really rare like Earthbound but its still cool to have, the Japanese copy might be somewhat rare

Honestly not sure...probably my Lunar: Eternal Blue and Lunar: Silver Story Star for PS1...and I don't think those are that rare.
Oh yeah thats a pricey one, like 125-140 for each of those

Not exactly sure what is considered rare but I do have FE7 for GBA which seems to go for a decent price. I also have Paper Mario: TTYD, Zelda Collectors Edition, and other GCN games that might be considered rare.

I say it's rare because many people in US haven't really get a chance to play it and never was released where l live. Someone told that so many people were mad because they never released Mother 3 in the west. And l just checked and yes it was only released in Japan. People translated the language in English and made it possible for people everywhere else besides Japan. But my copy is not a hacked. Actually l need to find the game so l can play it again. xD Lastly just wanna say that prices don't always matter in games. Not everything is count as rare because in the price. You also have to know how many times was the game sold when it first came out and which consoles it was released on and how many times do you see it in stores/online(original copy) I'm just saying not being rude or anything

Also l would say that Earthbound is in between rare and not rare. Depends where u live. I only know that because many people online have said it's rare and said not rare.

Well I don't have an official copy since this game was never officially released, but I have a custom cased, physical replicated copy of Propeller Arena for the Dreamcast. It runs on it without needing to modify the console itself. The game was pretty much finished, but was more than likely cancelled due to 9/11 and having a release date of 9/19. While having a physical/replicated copy doesn't make it valuable, I'd still call it rare since the game never was released. I know you can get it online though just by downloading a ROM but that can be said for any game really.

Nothing crazy rare.

Maybe some of the Limited Run/Super Rare/Special Reserve Switch games...or some of the old GBA games still in cardboard.

Looks like Europe (or maybe just Germany) isn't as wild when it comes to some prices  Both Dragon Quest VIII and Last Window are typically around 30€ on eBay.

The rarest games I own (I think) are
- Yokai Watch 3
- a whole bunch of Atlus 3DS games (all of them seem to be rare now, though until a few months ago a big retailer was selling a single sealed copy of Stella Glow for the usual 39.99)
- the first two Suikoden games on PS1, last time I checked years ago I could've sold 1 for ~100€

I wish I could say I owned earthbound, but sadly I do not. However, I think the rarest game I own is Suikoden 2 for the ps1? I've never actually sold any games I owned, just slowly built up my gaming library over the years and I have no idea what is considered "rare" vs "valuable". Most are rpgs from as early as the snes era up to the modern systems today.

However, my brother does have a gold cartridge of ocarina of time for the N64 and I think that one might be kinda rare?

I have a few gamecube games that are kinda expensive on ebay. (Currency is USD)

Super Smash Bros Melee (complete with case and manual) - $60+
The OG Animal Crossing (complete with case, manual, and memory card) - $60+
Super Mario Sunshine (complete with case and manual)- $50-$60+
Harvest Moon: Another Wonderful Life (complete with case and manual)- $40-$100
Pokemon Colosseum (complete with case and manual)- $80+
Pokemon Colosseum Bonus Disc (disc only)- $90-$100
Pokemon XD (complete with case and manual)- $60+
Pikmin (complete with case and manual)- $60+
Mario Kart Double Dash (complete with case and manual)- $65+
Zelda: Twilight Princess (complete with case and manual)- $80+
Zelda: Wind Waker (complete with case and manual)- $55+
Billy Hatcher and the Giant Egg (complete with case and manual)- $60-$80+

Pokemon HeartGold is kind of a collectors item for the series, I also own a Pokewalker which is somewhat of a novelty.

I came into this thread expecting to say my copy of Ocarina of Time with the Islamic chanting in the Fire Temple and the moon and star design on the mirror shield. But apparently the real answer is Fire Emblem: Path of Radiance. (which, to be honest, I found quite tedious and I forget I even have it half the time since I never have the urge to go for it)

not sure why this is in the nintendo section, but maybe that's because my actual rarest game utterly trashes anything nintendo I own. to the point that I see no need to figure out what any of my nintendo games is the rarest

not gonna bother guessing on the price, because good luck finding a seller to begin with. since no doubt, only a couple hundred copies would've been made at the most, and if I was to hazard a guess, probably more like <50

of course, the fact that various later releases had all the content from here too (and being available digitally now) means it's only this specific release that is rare, not the "game" itself

I actually have quite a few rare games, some of them I got at secondhand game stores, some I've had since I was a kid, and others I bought on release. The only one I bought off of ebay for way too much money was Dragon Quest V.

Persona Q2 New Cinema Labyrinth (physical copy with case is roughly $80-90, found it for like 30 bucks at a gamestop)

Yo-Kai Watch 3 (physical copy is $90-110, bought new on release)

Dragon Quest VIII 3DS ($65-70, got it new from Best Buy)

Shantae and The Pirates Curse (65-75, ordered a copy on Mercari for 40 bucks)

Dragon Quest IV Chapters of The Chosen DS ($80-90, got it for my 9th birthday as a kid)

Dragon Quest V DS ($80-90)

Some other games I've always wanted to own but probably never will include Earthbound on the SNES, Dragon Quest VI on the Ds. Chibi-robo on gamecube, Fire Emblem Path of Raidance on gamecube, and Shantae and the 7 Sirens on Switch are all ridiculously expensive to own though, so I'll probably wait for virtual console releases,

I have a world of warcraft cataclysm set worth £200
A lightning edition ps2 worth £250
Twilight forest PAL Gamecube £60-70
Sealed copy of pokemon colloseum with console and box, no clue as to the price.. £300?
Japanese ps2 £80

and last but not least, my gameboy color with all pokemon cartridges and my N64 pikachu version with zelda, pokemon stadium 1 + 2, pokemon snap, 007, mario, mario party, super smash and mario kart.

Are SNES games rare? I still have a bunch that were gifted to me when I was a kid and the console became outdated by then. Although not as quite rare, I also have Pokemon Black and White 2, catridge only. They appear to be authentic.

Ah, although the next item isn't rare (costed me about $10), it still sparks joy and I hope to play it one day. That game is Avalon Code (JP). Yeah, for some reason the English version costs $50 and up. I wonder why?

i didn't think i actually owned any rare games but a few people have mentioned yo-kai watch 3??
i got that one from my nan for christmas just after it was released so i guess i do have a rare game although i used to see it in secondhand shops often

i also used to own pokemon soulsilver but i sold it a few years ago to pay for a 2DS XL
was worth it lol

idk if any of my other games are rare in any way because i normally get them from the supermarket or eshop

I have persona Q2 (didn't know it was rare) and I also have pokemon soulsliver (sadly doesn't let me save and the game card turned yellowish over time)

Kirbys Air Ride for Gamecube. PAL Version!
I knew the game was getting more rare but the last time I checked it was at about 40€ and I just checked and
holy moly, the price riiiiiiiised. +100€ for it. I actually laughed in shock that for once I'm owning an actual rare game!

Edit: Figured I'd make also a small list :)

1. [Gamecube] Kirby's Air Rid PAL (+100€ / +$120)
2. [Gamecube] Mario Party 6 with Microphone PAL (~70€ / ~$83)
3. [Gamecube] Wario World PAL (~70€ / ~ $83)*
4. [Nintendo 64] Yoshi's Story with box PAL (~40€ / ~$47)

*I got this game for free from my at-this-time best friend of mine. Her uncle had a storage full of old games and she was allowed to take whatever game she wanted for free and she's not a gamer at all.. but she knew I am so once she was done checking through and picking some up, she decided to let me check through what she picked out before she would sell them for profit and I took Wario World. :)

Probably just Sunshine because I have the box and manual. I know I also have TTYD and Melee boxes but they must be at my parents' house.
