Hi guys,
weird topic, but very important!

Summer just ended and school is back in session. It's a breeding ground for lice basically.
For some reason, I was just reminded because I thought of the boy who was in my chair yesterday.
Was about to cut his hair until my instructor and I found lice eggs streaming down his hair around the nape. Of course I felt very bad for him. Make sure to check your hair. Ask someone who is trusted or check hair of the people you know.

For people with long hair, take a comb and part the hair from the top of the head to the back of the head and separate the two strands. Do this around the head.

For short-haired people, check the back of the ear and around the nape.

I'm not a certified physician to give tips on how to get rid of lice, but if you are particularly concerned, PM me and I will give you some tips from people who dealt with lice.

Be careful, people!

I've had lice twice and my life. The first time when I was like 4 or 5 I don't remember, but we all had to get our head shaved, evidence is in our family photographs lol. 2nd time had to be like 8 or 9 years ago. I never had a lice problem since.

I remember having lice twice before once when I was very little, I remember my mom taking away my stuffed animals for a while so she could kill off the lice that had gotten on them, never had to shave my head thank goodness. And the second time I think I was around 11 or 12 and I remember her putting this stuff in my hair and then going through it with a special comb and removing all the lice, I still remember looking at all the eggs and lice floating dead in the sink. Definitely not a fun time.

Weird, if you take out the part about getting stuffed animals getting taking away and not having your head shaved the 1st time, it sounds EXACTLY like my experience

Yeah it was really gross seeing all of them. I remember when she first found a lice too and popped it between her nails to kill it. So gross. X.X

I haven't had them since I was a young kid. I have absolutely no idea how I've managed to avoid them all these years as I work with children, and I know several of them have been sent into school with lice in their hair, I've even had to get permission from parents to do the treatment myself in school.
I cannot stand the thought of anything living in my hair....

Yep, had them once when I was 14-15 or something maybe? Considering I have very thick and long hair mostly it was a pain to get rid of them but been avoiding them ever since. Idek how I even got them either cause afaik no one in my class back then had them.. or they did lol...

I remember seeing them crawling all over my little brother's hair before he got shampoo'd. I was all grossed out but my Grandmother didn't want me to say anything or else he would have freaked out lol

I've only had them once when I was a child, it wasn't a pleasant experience. I'd say fleas were the worst experience though, it took ages to get rid of them because they lay eggs everywhere.

This thread has me all itchy and paranoid! Now I can't stop itching my head and thinking things are crawling on me! X.X

I had lice when I was younger cause my brother got it from his one friend. It is the worst. When you get them picked out, your poor hair gets yanked on. ;w;

I am in beauty school and many people consoled me about the lice situation. It was a particularly a bad day for me. One person told me not to worry because it was just eggs. It won't jump anywhere. It would take chemicals to remove it, that's why people go to the extent to yank your hair.

A girl told me to color your hair with lightener and toner to get rid of the lice.

Oh god yes. In my primary school they where everywhere. I can't believe I only managed to get them 3 times (yes ik it was horrible).

I remember I had to Wash my hair twice a day for 2 weeks using the comb for an hour to get rid of them all because my hair is so thick. I remember crying so much because my head hurt so bad.

Everyone in my class got lice in 3rd grade. I will never send my kids to sleepover birthdays until they're past the lice infested stage of life.
