Ordered two of the shamrock 'soda' shakes. Also bought the hat from Able's. I probably would have prefered the doorplate before the soda...but I'm pretty happy with my first day.

But I'm guessing the vast majority of TTers DON'T spoil the game- I've never spoiled it for anyone, my IRL friends who TT don't, either. It's never even occurred to me because it's rude, and just because I'm a TTer doesn't mean I'm the type of person who'd rudely spoil things for others. So it's not fair to blame everyone who TTs, most of whom aren't out to spoil it.
Also, again, dataminers are still a thing- not being able to TT hasn't prevented spoilers. And I've also seen non-TTers spoil things, too (I've literally seen people like "OHMYGOSH SOMEONE JUST SPOILED _____ FOR ME", thus spoiling it for others, which is ridiculous, and makes you just as bad as the person who posted in the first place- maybe even worse since you apparently know how frustrating it is to have things spoiled(

I mean, if you want to TT, do. If you don't, don't. But I just hate how some people judge TTers or tell them they're ruining the game for themselves or others. I didn't realize there was any stigma until I joined the online community (I literally thought everyone TTed, or it was the rare person who didn't, because all my IRL friends did it) and it totally stunned me that some people were judging me for how I enjoyed the game. I don't judge non-TTers, all I ask is the same respect. I mean, it's not a competitive game at all, so it's absurd that some people feel competitive about how they play.

But seriously, it's like... live and let live, play and let play.

I have nothing against time travellers.
I time travel myself sometimes when doing large scale projects. (Never for daily content that would take away from long term goals).

But I will admit it does annoy me when people who like to time travel act like victims because nintendo haven't catered the game design to them.

I do think its nice when we can all get excited for the same thing at the same time. And by locking off things it removes a lot of temptation to time travel. It's not bad game design to save players from themselves. After all, it's human nature to take the path of least resistance.

Basically, no judgement from me about the time travel... but yeah, you seem to be taking the fact that time travel goes against the games core design and nintendos design a bit too personally. Try to relax a bit. I mean this conversation wouldn't be going on right now if you didn't go on an angry rant about having to wait less than an irl day for the items.

I'm genuinely asking, I always thought it was expected to reply to direct replies to you)

I thought this was a productive, interesting conversation. Frankly, I was relaxed, but not so much now that I feel like I'm being called out (?) Maybe I'm misreading the situation. But I'm not taking this that seriously- I'm expressing some complaints about the game, something that almost everyone on here does (to the point where this site sometimes feels like it's purely for complaints, in my opinion, at least), I'm sorry if I did something wrong but I thought I was just having a conversation?

Also, to be clear, I'm not expecting Nintendo to cater the design to TTers. I get it's not how they intended the game to be played. I just don't think it's fair they appear to have changed the design purely to HURT TTers, when it was never an issue in previous games. Plenty of people complain and discuss changes Nintendo has made in this game- that's all I'm trying to do.

Ah, okay. I'm sorry, too, I've had a rough day (I'm in a meeting right now which has totally messed up my daily work schedule) and am probably overly sensitive right now. I'm also always paranoid I'm doing something wrong But, yah, I'm sorry if I came off meaner then I meant to- sometimes I can do that, lol. I was genuinely just trying to have a conversation but, looking back, I can see how it seems like I was trying to play the victim! I'm certainly not thinking Nintendo is out to get me or has ruined the game or anything. It's just a little pet peeve that's effected my enjoyment of the game a bit, and part of the reason it annoys me is it still just feels like they didn't have a solid reason for such a big change (to those of us who TT, at least).

Why would you want it to disappear after being consumed? But I do however admit that instead of the "cheers" animation, there should have been a drinking one instead.

For me, I really liked the consumable ice creams, NY cider, sushi rolls, and coffee cups that I could eat in NL. My friends and I would meet up in game and have a “picnic” where we would sit down somewhere and eat them.

I was hoping the cider would be eatable so that we could have some semblance of eating and drinking together during the pandemic. My friends had also bought a bunch of ciders and we were waiting near midnight to “drink” it together.

You can imagine our disappointment when we couldn’t do that :<

Yay! I'm excited to use the items in my pub, especially the Shamrock Soda. I do think it's a little funny though that it's labeled as a seasonal item from Europe though, since the items seem more like American St. Patrick's Day than Irish. Especially the shakes!

My nook shopping had the Shamrock rug today. It's actually cute but I don't think I have a place to use it. I want to grab a couple of the Shamrock sodas and one of the Shamrock hat just so I have something to wear on the day. Can someone confirm if you can “drink” or pretend to drink the shamrock soda?

I thought we could drink the NY cider and bought like 10 (5 each for my 2 characters) of them because I didn’t know they weren’t consumable. I was SO disappointed you couldn’t drink it like you can in NL and could only do a”Cheers!”
