I never will. Custom art is only for those who wish to actually support my art through commissions or donations

Well ok then... as much as I would love to commission and support you, I sadly don't have any money. I have to rely on nice artists who open for TBT commissions around here.

Personally I feel like an artist shouldn't expect payment from everyone who takes an interest in their art as not everyone will be able to afford the high prices, but that's just my opinion. I just wish I could afford to commission people.

Sorry, I don't take very kindly who ask for more even while I'm offering free art on here..... you wouldn't ask anyone who farms or does any other kind of service for free, so art should be no different. I'm still a nice artist, I just have to live, like you and everybody else. I'm glad those other artists can have the privilege of accepting those funds, and I wish you much luck in working with them~

That's great! I hope the next time yourself, your parents or anyone else you know goes to work, that you won't expect their employer to pay them.

I simply asked for one of my animal characters done, or even my Animal Crossing character (who, by the way, is barely different than what you allow to be drawn) since you are a nice animal artist and that's very rare around here. I knew you said AC only but I thought I'd see if you were open to a few other things as well, since most artists are. Please don't make it seem like I was asking you to draw every single character I own. I simply was seeing what you were okay drawing.

And on the subject of art, while I am a bit harsh on the topic, I will say that most artists who do RLC commissions open TBT slots here so they can receive some form of payment. This allows those without money to be able to enjoy their art. Definitely makes me happy that's for sure.

Of course their employers will pay them. After all, they actually have a job.

I don't limit myself to just game characters fortunately, this post was just specified for Animal Crossing, since I'm new to the forum and wanted to do something nice. I never once stated you said that, or even implied that! So I kindly ask you not to make it seem like I was, I simply asked for you to follow the rules of the post, regardless of how simple, or complicated your OC was. That's great! Like I said before, I'm glad those artists can afford to do that. Like everyone I need to eat, and do other things in life, and I'm not going to do my job for free because someone doesn't agree with supporting artists financially for their work. My custom Animal Crossing character is an Animal Crossing character, custom or not. Drawn the same way, same everything, just not in the game. If you want to be strict about what you are willing to draw, you need to say that in your post. I know you said Animal Crossing characters only, but you need to be really specific around here because there will be people asking for OCs to be drawn. "Animal Crossing villagers only- no OCs, custom villagers, no exceptions!" Saying I'm asking for more implies I'm trying to burden you with some ridiculous order. I asked for something that wasn't listed in the first post, but again, I was just seeing if you'd possibly be open to a simple character. Forgive me for applying what I've learned from two years on this forum in your thread. That's nice and all, desperately trying to art so you can survive, but you should know that if you're looking for RLC, this is not the place for you. Most of us are young or unemployed or we just don't have enough for commissions. RLC-only shops around here fail 99% of the time, and frankly if you just come here hoping to sell art for money, that's just not right.

Art is a job, yes you're right. If you have a college degree and are working for some kind of art industry like a cartoon or video game, that is. If you're just an artist who's pretty decent and hoping to make a quick buck, it's nothing more than a hobby you can occasionally profit off of. It's something you really shouldn't try to make a living off of (again if you're not professional. Otherwise it's fine!) I personally have a thing against mediocre artists who try to live off of commissions. It's fine if there are things going on and you can't get a job, but if there are lots of job opportunities flying around and you're not taking them, you're just being lazy. Don't forget: artists depend on people liking their art. Nobody likes it, nobody commissions, no money. They should feel honored that anyone likes their art at all. Like a cocky pop star who thinks he's the greatest thing ever. You'd be nothing without your fans.

I'm just going to go ahead and apologize for my behavior and any upset I may have caused. Art is one of the only things I have to enjoy in my life so naturally I get a bit hostile when someone wants me to pay for stuff, especially since I'll probably never be able to get a job. There's probably a little bit of jealousy in there too since I can't sell commissions of my own and will never be an artist.

I'm going to follow you on Twitter to support you and hopefully I can commission you one of these days. I wish you luck on your thread and future endeavors~
