I'm not sure if this thread has already been made but I wanted to talk about the tbt/igb rates of items such as furniture, fruits, bells, even villagers in the upcoming game. I think when acnl was released the selling prices of villagers and furniture were really high but as time passed by the prices dropped. I guess same will happen with the Nintendo switch items. What do you think?

I definitely think everything will be super expensive at first. There won’t be as many items/igb in circulation when ac switch comes out so people will be willing to pay more for what they need.
I need to start saving tbt in preparation for this lol!

This is what I'm thinking too. I guess that especially rare items, like such items you get randomly
(like parts from the Sloppy series in New Leaf) are getting very super expensive at the beginning.
Same goes for new villagers. If there are some which are very beloved by the fans then I guess
they will also be expensive and also stay expensive for a while as new villagers are probably not
so easy to get then the old ones.

I feel like honestly, cheating probably has a lot more to deal with it than anything. Like, things were really expensive at the height of ACNL's popularity, but I don't feel like cheating was as accessible or widespread as it is now. For instance, take the items from Weeding Day - if you don't hack, you have one day a year where you can get them, AND you have to have enough weeds, meaning you have to have prepared for Weeding Day, not just TT'ed to it and played through the day like you would with other events. Even if you did cheat, the most common thing to do was cloning, which sounds like a lot of effort (never did it) and requires you to already have the item you want to clone, vs. hacking, which (since I've also never done it) I imagine is just basically like poofing the item into existence.

The price of villagers will most likely depend on whether or not they keep the Amiibo cards as a way to move in villagers. If they keep them, any new villagers will probably be super expensive in comparison (although if they're also released as cards, then maybe they won't be expensive for long - again because of cheating). If not, then all of them will be expensive. Unless, of course, we can't trade villagers as easily, or even at all.

^ Alot of people could get dupes with the duplication glitch. If someone figures somethung like that out fir switch well....

That's what I meant with cloning. It probably still won't have much of an effect, I think - you do need to have the item already, and from what I understood, it went pretty slowly.

The switch doesnt have a turn off the wifi button, like the 3ds does, either so. I'm sure some smartass will find a way though haha

There are simply ways to get around that. However, it is something Nintendo actually checks for now, so hopefully they nip that glitch this time.

Once the game comes out, everyone will be selling certain rarer items for a buttload of money. However, they will get cheaper over time. I honestly don't understand TBT currency, or the point in having it. I always tend to deal with IGB.
