I stroke Scott's hair and sit down in a chair. "...Would you have preferred to stay that way?"

I grin. "That's the spirit." I give Catherine a quick pat on the head before walking out of the house.

I pick Catherine up and set her down next to Scott. "C'mon, it's time for dinner."

I follow her and sit at the table. "Looks good." I smile genuinely.

I grab plates and utensils from the cabinet and set them on the table.
