Ruined my town via TT

I keep saying I won't Time Travel and then I do. This time I went weeks to try and get Bob out. When I realized what I had done, I decided to move ahead just to get Marina to move so someone could hold her for me. But no. She refused for 2 full YEARS, me playing each week for a whole 2 years. She was the only one who didn't want to move out.

So I reset since I was so far ahead. I am sick and tired of resetting. I have two where it was beyond my control (One I deleted by accident and another my brother deleted). I am hoping that this will be the last time I need to reset. Anyway, currently trying to get a good layout with fruit I want (apples or cherries), and either Rory or Cherry as a starting villager.

I am going to replay the past 2 weeks for like the 8th time since it came out, and hopefully this will be the last time I have to do this.

Oh man, and I remember you got Hans, your dreamy, twice in a row! But I also understand your predicament. I hope you manage to find the town you like, and that you can enjoy the game, in whatever form or play style that is.

I have gotten him a toatl of 3 times out of about 8. Hopefully he shows up this time. After thins incident of trying to get Bob out I don't think I will get villagers from islands I don't want. I got him just to give to someone, but it turns out they had gotten his card a few days back.

It's not that I don't like him. He's OK, but I only got him to give to my favorite Let's Player, just to find out he ordered a Bob card a few days ago. Then I was just trying to kcik him out. I realized only AFTER I reset I could have kicked him out via amiibo. Same with Marina, who I wanted to keep, and have someone hold onto until I was done resetting.

I agree that it is all about making the game fun for you, but why didn't you just time travel back to the current date and start not time traveling from there? It was much easier to reset in New Leaf because the beginning stage wasn't so long and slow. I just hope that the constant starting from the beginning will make you burn out fairly quickly with the game.

Best of luck finally getting that town you are 100% happy with.

I agree that it is all about making the game fun for you, but why didn't you just time travel back to the current date and start not time traveling from there? It was much easier to reset in New Leaf because the beginning stage wasn't so long and slow. Because I just dislike going backwards in AC. I don't mind a few days forward, but I got so upset, I kept moving forward more and more until I was months in advance.

No no no. I got him, and during his live stream of RE3 yesterday I offered him Bob, but it turned out he had ordered a card already (While I commented over and over he didn't seem to notice, but he did talk a bit about AC and did mention he ordered a few cards). It's not that I was holding Bob for him, it's more that I saw him, thought of NicoB mentioning Bob's his favorite, and invited him just to give him to Nico. I was unaware he had already ordered the card. He didn't do anything wrong, it was just me not leting him know in time.

Time Traveling has nothing to do with you ruining/resetting your town.

I’m so sorry—it’s a very stressful situation to be in, and I’m sure lots of people here can relate.

Your descriptions sound like you’re stuck in an obsessive-compulsive pattern, and from personal experience, I can tell you that it won’t stop unless you break the cycle.

As difficult as it sounds, you need to set yourself clear guidelines and try to stick with them best you can. No resetting or TT (if TT puts you at risk of wanting to reset)
Loosen up your requirements, because you can always make changes later on. If you don’t get your Dreamies, that’s fine. Keeping someone you don’t love and waiting can be part of your Island’s story! You’re not starting with the ideal, you’re building toward it. It’s good the way it is—or as somebody once told me:
“everything is (already) perfect, and everything can be improved” ♥

i completely agree with fey! remember that you are allowed to take as much time as you want and there's nothing that pushes you to have a perfect island right away. you might get sick of the game resetting over and over when something doesn't go exactly as planned, and you can make finding your dreamies part of the fun! do whatever is best for u.

if you keep telling yourself that you won't time travel, then let this be the beginning of that! i'm sorry you had to reset again, and good luck going forward!
