Save animal crossings grass

I liked it in the first month or so, I had paths and that was cute.

I did not like it when suddenly it seemed like any step off my paths wore away the grass instantly. Especially after it snowed, I could see the snow patches get smaller with every step.

I don't think they need to disable it or offer an option to turn it off, I think they just need to tweak the settings a little. Make the grass a little more resilient and let it grow a little faster. I can't NOT walk on the grass - that's where the flowers are that need watering, and I only water them when they're brown so it's not as if I excessively walk on it.

I think grass seeds or fertilizer would be a neat addition. Like something you could buy at Nook's that would be added to your watering can for a day, and you could water the grass you're trying to grow back and it would help it grow faster.

most of you are saying " how is nintendo going to change this problem"? well the plan is every so often nintendo puts a free download in the wii shop channel!! you download it and it adds new items to your game right!! well we are going to have them make a patch that will add the new feature!! that graas wears down slower and grass growns way faster!!! makes sense??

I myslef will just use the grass hack everytime it starts looking like a total desert, because I can handle most of it, until I start not seeing grass in the screen.

No, I will not discuss any fiurther of this hack nor will I tell you guys how to find it if you ask me.

this actually made me laugh...

Animal Crossing remains one of Nintendo

Nedrian, you do realise that this petition hasn't really had that much coverage? I've only seen it on this forum, because obviously every single animal crossing player in the WORLD is a member of a forum, Nintendo are going to realise that they aren't and take this into consideration, and I know that everyone who signs this petition is going to get other people they know to sign this petition (if they feel they agree with it) Its still a possibility that Nintendo will respect all of their gamers and possibly make a DLC, so for those people that beleive in this petition (such as myself) even that hope is a reason to sign it and urge others to, it'll only grow by word of mouth

hacking is not the way to go.
your point is...?

My grass isn't regrowing any faster, so this seems like the only way right now.

Besides. NIntendo sending a patch just for some grass, for ONE game? So they should just take time out of their day, because God knows they aren't busy each day, actually find a way to turn off the paths feature, then send the patch to EVERY single Animal Crossing owner in the world. Because, you know, everyone who owns a Wii has an internet router, and has internet. No, let's only send it to the people who do have an internet connection, because that totally makes sense.

No, this petition is a fantastic idea. This isn't a total waste of time and internet bandwitdth. Yeah, you guys really have outdone yourselves. Why didn't I think of this?

EDIT: By the way, you don't get DLC through the Shop Channel, you get it through mail in the game. How about you actually do some research?

Would you rather a desert in your town or grass???
i would rather my grass wear away more slowly, but not make it stop all together because i take the game as it comes and run with it... i don't sit in a corner and cry because the game isn't perfect -in my opinion- and tell everyone they have to sign something because it's ugly to me...while harassing nintendo with a petition they're going to ignore.

i do wish they would allow nook to sell fertilizer that we put in our watering cans -because that sounds doable- but taking it out totally? nah... i'd rather "OMG UR GONNA HAVE A DESERT IF U DON'T SIGN BECAUSE THIS WILL SO TOTALLY WORK ZOMG111!!!oneone!!!111" than make it stop all together... sorry.

and since you still think it's impossible to not have a desert, you need to read this (also look through half the posts in this forum because maybe people, like myself, think their trails are very suitable in their towns):

http://forums.the-bell-tree.com?topic=7100811/1/

"Another method is to place pattern paths to all the most visited places in town, using them exclusively while the grass is in a state of recovery. Note that the patterns themselves do not have an effect on the grass in any way. They are merely a tool to help players develop paths only where they are desired. Early regrowth is fragile; walking over it even once will cause it to visibly disappear. For this reason, players who use this method may have to refrain from shaking trees or digging up fossils and gyroids until the grass reaches a certain stage of recovery. Grass grows faster under trees and flowers and, for a town that has not yet eroded to the point of desertification, planting trees and flowers in problem areas may be enough to reverse or halt the damage. However, the act of walking to the flowers to water them will erode the grass you walk across to reach the flowers. Placing the flowers along the pattern paths themselves is an option while the town is in the early stages of recovery. Natural dirt spots will not grow back."

I love this feature in the game.
I love running through my recently-made paths which guide me through my most visited places in my town. I've got most of my town covered in snow, but it's true, I don't usually visit those places that much, I just walk by to check for fossils or gyroids.
I like this feature because it has made the game, for me, a little more challenging than the other 2. Most of my friends walk though my paths because they already know walking on grass-consequences. I really get what you guys mean when they say that people are so worried about their grass being ruined. I was worried about this before but I just got used to it and eventually loved to plant more trees and flowers in my town (not near paths, obviously), which has helped me to develop a more close relationship with my town, providing a nice enviornment for me and my neighbors.
