I originally only came on to celebrate Bob's birthday (for the fourth year in a row), but I got carried away and took some really good-looking night photos on Wahu as it also happened to be a shooting star night...
Poncho doing yoga under the moon. It's also his birthday tomorrow (Jan 2nd), but I didn't tell him anything yet.
Patty having her "post-New Year's party" night out. It looked like she was interested in getting a beverage...
...a warm cup of coffee from The Roost. A nice way to get through a cold night.
This one with Kyle turned out to be my favorite. I may even replace the photo I currently have for one of my existing journal stories, which was a Photopia picture. It's that good.
He kept looking at me the whole time when I tried to photograph him (even when I didn't tell him to), but this was a rare moment where he quickly glanced the other away, while two shooting stars showed up at the same time. I love it.
Every time I see an Emperor Butterfly flying around at night like this, I'm instantly reminded of the artwork on Mike Oldfield's 1979 album Platinum. The final track off it, "I Got Rhythm", is a nice slow-but-powerful song that pairs well with the shiny blue butterflies I see wandering around freely like this.
A shot of the cemetery I wanted to do, but never got around to doing so.
Disclaimer: These villagers did not "pass away". They were all former residents that wanted to leave.
Aaaaand random Lopez, but no Lopez! It's just a shot of his house.
What put me into this mood? This Dan Fogelberg song below. If you listen to the lyrics and how the song sounds overall, it really gave me inspiration on how I was able to stage these photos without Photopia assistance. Truly powerful stuff.
