whats a snack you feel a lot of people arent familiar with but you know?
doesnt have to be *exclusive* or super secretive or anything, maybe just something you found out or maybe a lot of people dont know about!
share the recipes here and let us know if you try any<3

mine is papas locas. its fairly popular where im from, but a lot of my online friends are unfamiliar with it. all you need is “original” flavored chips, and put them in a bowl. you then squeeze limes and put soy sauce on them. lastly you top them off with some hot sauce (i use valentina) and enjoy! very savory and one of my favorite snacks :)

I guess for me it has to be Mangos with rompope (an egg-nogg like drink).
I make them with the small yellow mangoes (I believe it's the Ataulfo variety), I peel and cube the mangoes and set them aside, then I grab a cup and I fill it up about 2/3 of the way with rompope and then I add milk for the last third. I then mix the liquid with the mangoes and I let it sit in the fridge for a couple of hours or overnight. It's a great summer snack! The amount of rompope can be adjusted depending on the strength you want it to be.

I know those as papas preparadas, I usually add cucumber as well!

Hello Panda 🐼
It is biscuit with chocolate creme inside! If you have a Five-Below, it's only $1.29 😎 (It's the only place that I know which sells it...)

oH MY GOSH, the thread for me.

sooo, there's this thai instant noodle brand called MAMA and one of my favorite flavor is their tom yum goong. But, instead of making the noodles, my brothers and I would crumble the noodles into tiny pieces and then add in the seasoning to create "noodle chips"

I also love love seaweed chips, this brand exactly (Tao Kae Noi)

I love snacks! One of my faves is like yours @biibii but instead of soy sauce I use Worcestershire sauce and also know them as “papas preparadas”. Out of curiosity, where are you from?

Another snack I like is “kaki no tane”, seasoned rice crackers

Chex mix can take a hike, this is the alpha snack mix on the market. I will fight u over this.

The chip version is just as good, but in a different way

I don't know what exactly people don't know about so I'll just say ones my friends are unaware about
Pickles and peanut butter, surprisingly...oddly really good. Don't know, maybe I'm just crazy, but it's not bad
Lots of things with peanut butter are good actually, but I can't stand eating peanut butter solely alone. It's just too much to eat but when it's in small quanitities with other items it's fine.

Potato chips dipped in ketchup, reminder, these are ones I've been stared at for at the sheer mention by friendos

Olive oil and vanilla ice cream. With a little dash of sea salt, it's a bit of a dream that I've never experienced before, not too much oil though and it's gross. Also should not consume much oil in general

Pizza and mustard/buffalo sauce. I really love this combo, mustard and pizza (most kinds) somehow fits very well to me.

Has anyone ever done chocolate on pizza? or fried shrimp on a pizza? Not very revolutionary or new, but I do recommend it if you haven't heard it, if you have already heard that. Did you ever try it, if so did you enjoy or not?

Chocolate and cheddar cheese is the best. now hear me out

like eating some m&ms and some cheese-itz crackers at the same time. Or like a piece of chocolate and then some cheddar cheese. Honestly don’t say anything to me until you’ve tried it

those are delicious!! in canada, i can get those at oceans which specializes in like multi-ethnic products - there’s other flavours like strawberry but chocolate is definitely my favourite🤤

not a snack but i've been known to subsitute spaghetti for asian fried noodles which are difficult to get around here. one of my favorite quick lunch dishes includes chinese sausage (I get it in bulk at costco when i go home, it keeps p well in the fridge/freezer), spinach, and spaghetti, with my sauce being an eyeballed mix of soy sauce, sesame oil, hoisin sauce, ginger, and garlic. super yummy c:

other subs I make a lot because of sourcing issues are:
sesame paste -> peanut butter
ramen (instant stuff) -> stirfy noodles/other noodles

and probably a bunch of others I'm forgetting rn LOL

Staying in Asia, there are a lot of varieties. Hello Panda by Meiji is good but I prefer Koala's March by Lotte. That's because during mango season, I get to buy the special version exclusive to Thailand  Both the snacks are good though :)

Let me know if you've had Koh-Kae before. It's a popular peanut snack in Thailand, which are peanuts covered with a crunchy shell. It's exported to the US, UK, Australia, Germany and other countries, so you might've chanced upon it before

MAMA and Tao Kae Noi are both Thai  Glad you enjoy them as much as the locals do.

I can vouch for fried shrimp on pizza, my favourite pizza topping is the seafood cocktail from The Pizza Company :) Better than Pizza Hut and Dominoes in my opinion since the taste is catered to the locals

Not exactly a brand, but I love eating Taiwanese bakery goods. Whenever I visit Chinatown, I always try to get those snacks. They’re a good price, not too expensive not too cheap, and each bun is around 1 dollar.
They kind of look like these:

They also have a variety of different cakes, buns, and tarts. Tiger cake is delicious and has swirly patterns with cream in the middle.
Taiwan also have pineapple cakes with sweet filling.

I grew up with all these snacks and some other user’s snacks, so it’s nice to see Asian snacks having some more recognition.
