My wife, my son, and I are semi- self quarantining because of the Coronavirus threat. We still go out when we need to, but for the most part we are going to stay home for the next couple of weeks. I know it's only a few days until the official release of New Horizons, but I wish Nintendo would bump up the release a couple of days for those of us who are hiding out. Disney released Frozen 2 and announced that they will release The Rise of Skywalker early due to the virus, so I don't think it would be insane for Nintendo to release New Horizons early too.

If anyone else out there is hunkered down, what are you doing to pass the time?

As much as I wish it would be release early it, it probably turn out to be unfair for those who pre ordered or need to pick physical copies. I know some store have the copies early but that not always guaranteed. Reading and scrolling through way too much animal crossing stuff xD

I am honestly feeling the exact same way. I am also self-quarantining and it’s sooooo boring. I feel like the days are getting longer the closer we get to the release date.

Thankfully, I'm a homemaker right now, so self-quarantining is easy for me. However, my fiance still has to work so I'm worried about him.. I sure wish nintendo would release it early! These past several days have been excruciatingly long so an early release would be a wonderful surprise. Though with only 5 more days, we are in the home stretch.

To pass time, I just do what I normally do. Clean the house, watch movies, listen to music, exercise, go online, chat with friends, play with my cats, do some art. I've been watching a lot of animal crossing videos but that can only fill the void so much and makes me crave acnh even more lol.

My job just announced we're closing all stores until March 28th (still getting paid, yay!), so I totally feel you! It's bad enough I finished my New Leaf dream town last week and I don't want to get burnt out starting a new town... So I think I'm going to spend my quarantine week deep cleaning my apartment until Friday.

Well if my work shuts down or I have to go into quarantine before Friday, I'm just going to get a digital download of the game and return my physical pre-order when I can get out again.

I'd like it to come early since last week was my spring break and colleges here will be shut down this coming week as well. So it'd be nice to utilize time available but it is what it is.

For reasons stated, people that have preorders and their switch coming later, I can see why it won't happen. But it's a nice dream.

I have a feeling we'll be quarantining in the UK very soon. I've been told I will probably be working from home this week at some point, so at least I'll still have a normal routine (sort of). I'll probably be playing a lot of Animal Crossing over the next few weeks to keep me occupied around work.

I hope everyone that is in quarantine isn't going too crazy! I really feel for you all, I get cabin fever spending the whole weekend in lol

here all stores beside necessity goods ones are closed I'm self quarantined since 3 of this month and preloaded the game same day
I don't even watch tv because that would sink my humor even more (always same dark news 24/7)
beside ordinary home chores I'm continuing some reserch for a project that I started years ago then reading novels as much as I can and then chatting with family on the phone
almost all my groceries are ordered from home
animal crossing it's a blessing but I wish they at least gave online play for free for some months

Most people still have jobs to go to, so releasing the game earlier won't help them much.

I thought they gave you free online if you preordered/preloaded the game? I didn't do so, so I'm unsure, but I thought that's what I heard

it's just a 7 days trial at least here in Europe...

I work in healthcare so I’ll defiantly never be able to quarantine until I test positive. I only wish that I would be allowed to stay home and play animal crossing all day! Thankfully I work 12 hour shifts and only have to work three days a week so I’ll at least have four days off a week!

I admire everyone working in healthcare right now. Thank you very much to everyone to be here on this days.
Take care of yourself

It would be super cool for them to release it a few days early for quarantined people. Doubt it will happen, but it would be nice.

Part of me wants them to let us get our preorders early, especially us people with physical copies. My biggest fear is not being able to go pick up my copy on release day if everything is shut down :(

Honestly, I don't really need to do much different. I work from home and I'm an introvert. I didn't have any travel planned and with events getting canceled, it's not like there's much to make me leave the house now. I went out yesterday to go grocery shopping, but that was out of necessity.

I still plan to go to Walmart on Friday to buy NH and a Switch (I don't have one yet). If things somehow change dramatically here, then I might change my plans. But that's what I plan to do.

No offense, but it would not be fair for some people to get the game early and not others. Plus there is only 5 days left which is not that long so at this point they really could not release it early as stores would need to get their shipments and companies would have to send them out. 5 days is not long to wait and tbh if your quarantining yourself it's not like you should go out and get a video game.

I feel you. School and work are suspended and we were adviced against going out. Days are passing slowly but we are almost at realese date.
If anyone else out there is hunkered down, what are you doing to pass the time?

Mostly reading and playing other games.
