Semi- self quarantining--I wish Nintendo would release New Horizons early.

No offense, but it would not be fair for some people to get the game early and not others. Plus there is only 5 days left which is not that long so at this point they really could not release it early as stores would need to get their shipments and companies would have to send them out. 5 days is not long to wait and tbh if your quarantining yourself it's not like you should go out and get a video game.

New Leaf released in Japan nearly 7 months before everywhere else. There's definitely precedence.

Sort of. That delay was because of translating NL into other languages. There's no delay this time because Nintendo was translating it simultaneously as it was being developed.

Sure took a long time compared to the release gap with WW and CF.

But if Disney of all companies can be understanding during this tough time, then I believe Nintendo can too.

(Which reminds me that I still have yet to watch the original Frozen, but that’s besides the point.)

It's wishful thinking, but I doubt it. I'm just glad that as of right now, I'm not quarantined and can actually go to work all week - that will definitely make time go faster until NH is released.

I feel you- my family is also staying home for the most part this week. I doubt they would release NH early, but I also wish they would.

I have been watching movies, painting, playing pokemon sw/sh and planning out my NH island :)

I have some games I haven't played yet that I am about to get to, so that is what I have been doing but I don't get out much anyway. However I won't be able to get AC on launch due to life stuff separate from the virus stuff. I hope I can get it by the end of the month though..

I'm basically being forced to isolate myself a bit because my job closed and all my trips that I had were cancelled. Luckily, I have to catch up on housework and actually work on applying for teaching jobs. So, that will keep me busy for a bit.

Thanks for all the responses everyone! It seems like we're all in the same boat for a little while.(1)

Has anyone found a Switch or 3DS game lately that has a similar appeal to Animal Crossing? I was until recently playing Dragon Quest Builders 2 and enjoyed it thoroughly, but after I finished the story line I gradually ran out of steam. I do recommend it for anyone else who is looking for something to do. There's a free demo on the Switch store, which was how I originally found it. I was thinking about Rune Factory 4, but it's giving me Stardew Valley vibes, which I tried to like, but being tied to a schedule really bothered me.

What kind of teacher? I ask because A) I'm a teacher, and B) I'm curious. Definitely an interesting time to be a public employee.

The Disney comparison is apples and oranges.

Frozen 2 has been available for purchase for two weeks now, only it's streaming release got pushed up. Likewise, Star Wars digital release was pushed up, but only four days. Physical release is still March 31 and streaming is not until October.

New Horizons has already been delivered to retailers and coordinating early release would be a waste of time when it's only five days away.

I'm a big fan of the Harvest Moon/Story of Seasons games, and would recommend the latter if you're looking for handheld, easygoing simulation games.

Would give Goose Game a go if you haven't tried that yet, Katamari Reroll, Donut County, even Graveyard Keeper is you don't mind some morbid themes. My partner is sustaining himself on Diablo III and old school RuneScape if that's more your vibe. c:

I've been spending my semi quarentine trying to get through a few games I started but never finished. Might as well get them out of the way before ACNH drops, right>
Looking at you, Xenoblade Chronicles, Kingdom Hearts, and Fire Emblem.

i’d love for them to release the game earlier,, i want to try and get back into other games to pass the time but i don’t want to get into something only to quit it again on friday lol

I just finished the last FE: Three Houses route and I think I will start (re)playing The Witcher for the first time on the Switch. The games are different enough for me to keep the controlls apart. I don't accidentally want to press a wrong button and decapitate Chrissy or Francine.

I've tried playing other games to pass the time but I can't really get into them when I know AC will be out at the end of the week so, mostly, I've just been reading Batman comics and HP Lovecraft short stories to pass the time.

Oh, and taking lots of naps, heh. :)

I've been binge reading, but as we get closer to release date I have a harder and harder time being able to actually focus and get into the books I am trying to read.

I just want my happy little island. Q.Q

"I don't think they'll release the game early, as much as I would like to play asap. But I did see that there's a petition going for those who are interested.

Thank you for the link! I signed the petition, but more for the fun of it than because I think it might have an effect. We have less than a week to go; I think my wife and I will manage.

Thanks for the suggestions! My daughter loves the Goose Game, but as to why I don't know, because it looks super weird to me. I'm going to take your advice and take a gander (Ha!) at Story of Seasons.

Guess I am lucky to have work to focus on, though even there my mind goes to AC:NH when there is less going (which it does with how many people avoid going outside now)

And while I wish we could play today, I see just how complicated it would be logistically to have everyone's physical preorders ready. Digital wouldn't be an issue, but it would be very unfair.

Aside of work keeping me busy, I play games I still need to get through.
