Series 3 cards to release on January 14 in Japan

So far, i'd love to get Rover, Lief, Jingle, Wolfgang Daisy, Marshal, Hamlet, Merengue and Francine. But of course, us Americans have to get it in May. But when all the characters are revealed for series 3, we'll know what villagers and some special characters are left!

Right, but they are already getting series 3. Series 2 hasn't even came out in Canada yet, and they are already getting the next series. I mean if after we got series 2 they annouched series 3 I guess that would be normal but what's happening right now....I don't know.

Except Japan is on its own schedule completely unrelated to NA or Europe (all of the regional Nintendo operate as basically separate companies), so it is totally normal.

I totally knew it would be star pattern snow this time. Too bad they didn't put the snowman family in this series.

I just hope it'll take some time before they're released here. I still need to pay off my New 3DS and I don't have the money to buy a whole box at once.

And I'm really not happy about all those repeat villagers. Especially since we're still missing a few. I don't mind Isabelle that much, since she is kind of the New Leaf representative and a fan favorite (as long as there's just one card in each series), and the one from the first series was so overpriced I think it's good that there are more of her. But Digby and Nook just wearing a jacket on top of their usual clothes? Come on. Don without his helmet? Seriously?
(And there are also quite a few that seem to share their houses with other characters, so there's not much incentive to get the cards for people who just want them to design the special houses. If I wasn't collecting them all, I'd just buy those few off ebay and be done with it.)

I hope we'll get Gaston this time. And since Francine is in, Chrissy might be too. They kept the super heroes together in series 2, after all.

Yay, another Gaston fan. ^_^ I hope so too! I'm waiting for Puddles, Merry, Erik, Frita and the rest of the cat villagers. Most of my favorites from ACNL were released in the first two series; I've been starting to like more villagers the more I play HHD though.

Yeah, I agree with everything you said about the outfits. Honestly, I don't care about the outfits; when I first started collecting the amiibo cards, I was hoping each of the special cards had a special item (not counting their pictures) like Isabelle had the motorcycle (or whatever it's called), and I was pretty disappointed to find that they didn't come with anything special and that they could only wear two outfits and you couldn't dress them up in anything else. I just collect them to collect all the cards and/or because I like the character.

There is 1 more character other than Isabelle who comes with an exclusive item (that isn't a picture), though it's a minor thing. Shrunk comes with his jacket.

Part of the reason they're doing outfits I think is because there's 17 special character cards per series and there's going to be 4 series total. There isn't 68 special characters in Animal Crossing.

I just wish scanning the alternate outfits unlocked them permanently into your game and that you don't have to scan cards every time you want to switch.

Why so many dupes? Like I understand KK in his two forms, but the rest y'all can chill on, especially for the ones that share houses... Excited for the new series, just means that it wont be out here in NA probably until February... at least I know what to ask for for Valentines day!

I am pretty sure you can pick them up to the change station thing and when it shows the "Special" thing you just click on it and it will cycle through their outfits. At least that worked with KK for me...

there are actually files for the snowpeople in the game, though I'm now unsure if they will end up being in game - the packs are based off the seasons, S3 being based off winter, which would make sense for them to be in. so since there's only one set left, being the summer set, it really doesn't make sense for them to be in that.

After the first series, I had wondered if there was any purpose to these villagers? assigned card numbers.

The first fifteen to twenty, from each series, have been about the special characters. But, when it comes to others, there tends to be an effort to refrain from having villagers from the same specie for consecutive numbers. So, I think that much control is there to really make these Amiibo cards feel like an unpredictable variety pack. But, in terms of card numbers, I was thinking about standout numbers?like 25 and 50 and 75 and 100 and 125 and 150 and 175 and 200 and 225 and 250 and 275 and 300 and??for easy memory connection to incredibly popular villagers like my personal favorite (mentioned in the next paragraph) and Julian and Beau and Marshal and Fang and Merengue and Marina and Molly and Lolly and Rosie and Zucker and Ankha.

I will say this about Series #03: I anticipate that my favorite villager in the game?the timeless classic cub bear Stitches?will be among the one-hundred block. If I am wrong, then perhaps Nintendo is saving the best for last (Series #04). (Okay?that is very biased. LOL )

Why are they doing Isabelle for the 5th time

5th? There's only 4 cards now. There should be a 5th after series 4 if you count the CP only one that was a special Shizue release only in Japan. Otherwise, outside of Japan there's 4 cards of Isabelle. Counting the figure is a bad idea too, there's a huge chance she's going to be released multiple figure times too only wearing different clothes, similar to how Mario was in the Super Mario Series (regular, gold, silver) where it's the exact same thing only differing by color.

I can't really understand Japanese, but I think you only get three per pack? Thats a bit outrageous.

It's been that way since series 1, and yes, it says in Japanese that there are 3 random "people" out of 100 total possible.
