Go for it! Theres nothing wrong with experimenting. If you don't think it looks good with your current style maybe change it up a bit and make your style more complex to fit to the more detailed shading .

Why not do both? Have one copy for cel shading and another for watercolor.

I love the cel-shading! But I bet it would also look amazing with watercolour. So do both! You should think about opening up commissions btw. You'd be really popular cuz your art style is amazing!
