For people who didn't know already; in Animal Crossing: New Horizons you can customize your villager completely from the start. This also includes hairstyles and eye contacts ? la Pocket Camp.

So here's the tea:

What does this mean for our dear Harriet?!

Is she just jobless now? Or will she still have her shop Shampoodle? Or will she be our roommate? Or will she take on an entirely different role?

Guys what if she's not in the game? They can't do that right?

Maybe you'll only have access to the basic hairstyles we all know at the beginning at the game and then when she'll be on your island you'll unlock the new hairstyles

i meant more like how she could give you a mii face or change your eye color, she just does it. i'm not suggesting that she gets a medical doctor degree and starts an actual plastic surgery clinic lol that would be wild

I actually completely understood what you meant but now that you mention it I'd like to see her with a medical doctor degree tbh

I think she’ll still be in the game, she will just be an option if we want to change our style at any point. I agree with others that it would be nice to have her there from the start!

Another idea I had, which I already explained, could be streaking hair. Like if you wanted to rock blonde or pink streaks with your brown hair.

I'm assuming she will still take on the same role. We can customize our own character at the start but I'm guessing Harriet will be there if you want to change your hair/eyes later in the game.

I just wonder if the map is going to have enough room for all of these shops we've seen on Main Street from New Leaf and more. It doesn't seem as if they've expanded the map significantly.

I think she will still have her old job and will helping us when it comes to change our character's
look. I have the theory that if you do certain things, you unlock Harriet and her new offering of
"special styling changes", such as two colored hair or new colors for the eyes (like yellow, orange,
purple, pink etc.). At least I wouldn't be surprised if they would go even further when it comes to
the charatcer customization.

I have a feeling that the map we saw in the e3 video was built specifically for the e3 presentation and that they'll be much bigger in the actual released game.

I guess the whole gameplay they showed was some kind of demo specifically made for the e3
presentation.

This is the only realistic thing I can think of since they said we can change our hairstyle and face at any time from the very beginning.

But then that would mean she wouldn't really have a shop it would just be in a menu.

I hope they just repurpose her like they're doing it with Mr. Resetti. Maybe since the developers unemployed both of them, they'll meet each other on the streets and fall in love and they'll get married and she'll be Mrs. Resetti.

Remember, the only footage we saw is from e3. Time was very limited, and we didn't see all of the things that the game has to offer. Customization in this game plays a huge role here, so we might be able to build Shampoodle for Harriet!
