Sherb looks like every other lazy villager...

I tend to like villagers that have a more natural coloring with a few exceptions like Diana and Phoebe. I'm not a fan of the super neon colors like with Fushia or unnatural coloring like Apple, Bluebear, Miranda, or Mira.

I see what you are saying about Sherb and how he has the same eyes and blue like Hornsby and Dizzy but a lot of villagers share similar assets. Marshal and Apollo have the same eyes. But there are so many lazies like Drago, Papi, and Stitches, and Cranston and they all look very different from Sherb. If you don't like Sherb, that's fine but he has a lot of things that people like about him.

He is a pastel blue
Goat models are pretty good compare. Some people don't like the mouse model or the taller animal models
His interior looks like a home
His house exterior isn't an eyesore

I honestly think he's as popular as he is because he's baby blue. Pastel colors fit into a lot of people's themes. Not for me personally (I like natural colors myself), but I can respect it.

As others have pointed out, you could say that about so many villagers. Why single Sherb out? Many villagers share similarities with others. Personally, I absolutely adore Sherb. I think he is one of the cutest looking villagers in animal crossing. He is such a sweetie too, always watering my flowers.

The reason he is so popular isn't because he is unique, it's likely due to him being new to animal crossing series. All the new villagers are incredibly popular (okay maybe not all, but most). I think his adorable sweater, coloring and house design helps.

I've had Hornsby shortly after Sherb in New Horizons, and then in New Leaf, Dizzy was my starter lazy. I've grown sooo close to Dizzy! He invited me to his house and came over to my house before the other villagers and he invited me to his place for my birthday party. I found myself absolutely adoring Dizzy, which is interesting because he's virtually the same as Hornsby and Sherb.

I have Sherb but there are other lazies I love more namely Beau. I don’t think that he looks like anyone else specifically he has his pot belly from all the fishy’s he just wants to touch! I have three lazies on my island also currently I did at one point have 5!!
