Hey guys! I'm thinking about getting my hair cut short. (I'm a female). Do any of you know what you'd call this style?

I've been trying to find a real life example so I won't have to be that person showing my hairdresser an anime pic lol.

Also, any short hair advice? Things you wish you'd learned sooner? Do you find your hair goes in your eyes more? Does it get greasy faster?

Thanks so much!!

Sadly I can't find a good picture of what you're looking for, but it's a nice hairstyle!

As for your questions.. short hair are awesome. It takes less time to dry them (especially good for wintertime), in summer you don't have the heat from long hair around your neck (don't forget suncream tho!!) and yeah.. overall I think it's a great thing to have. Also you are not going to always sleep on your own long hair and get hurt. As for the hair in the eyes.. that depends on the hairstyle, I guess. I used to always have the front part of my hair straight and they ended up getting a lot in my eyes and it looked really dumb with my glasses, so I let them grow out. Once they were all the same length, I could just put them behind my ears and there was no more hair in the face / eyes! And for the greasy part, mhh.. normally that doesn't matter a lot, but in any case shorter hair = less time to wash them. :)

No idea what it's called either, but honestly if you really want it, just show it and discuss a nice version for your face? :)

Also yeah, unless you have really straight hair, avoid layering it too much while getting a haircut. I have rather wavy hair once it grows longer and it's looks rather silly with different lengths.

I've a rather greasy and dry hair by nature but yeah for sure is easier to wash and dry, but takes a bit more maintenance to fix in the morning 😄

If you put "visual kei hairstyles" into Google Images you will be able to find examples of hairstyles that are similar to that on real people.

I have short hair, and I love it. I don’t know what to call it, but it’s basically a guy’s haircut. I find it easier to dye colors and style. I like that hairstyle in the pictures you posted.

I cut my hair really short a few months ago and I love it, but before I got it this short I did have it around the length you described. it was way easier to deal with than long hair but still not as easy as it is now. I was mainly worrying about making sure it didn't get in my eyes and that it was parted correctly. my hair isnt greasy so i was able to go a few days in between washes if need be.

I wouldn't recommend it though bc I had to go to a salon to have my hair done like that and even when I went in for a trim they charged me the base price of $42 (yup they gave a nb guy a women's haircut lol rip) whereas a really short cut at a barber is only $14 for me. my hair grows super fast so when short i have to keep it trimmed every 4-6 weeks and it really wasn't worth the price. just something to keep in mind! if you have the money then you're good :)

i'm not sure of the specific style you're looking for, but I tend to use this website to look for hairstyles. It's mostly in japanese but google translate does a good enough job for it! you can also see recommended face shape and stuff, which is nice.

i don't think it gets greasy faster, but it does get easier to deal with if your hair is short! you can rub baby powder in to get rid of the oil -- it works the same as dry shampoo. it's helpful to have if you don't want to overwash your hair!

also a fun thing with hair that length: you might wake up to it sticking up all over the place. usually combing fixes it, but just be prepared for funny hairstyles in the morning.

things i wish i’d have learned sooner: to never have tortured myself w long hair

does my hair go in my eyes more: nope, and definitely doesn’t get blown into my mouth when it’s windy

does it get greasy faster: no. not to mention washing and drying it is so easy

maintenance: in my experience having short hair i’ve never had to style it or apply heat to it for it to look good. when i had hair to my butt i had to spend a ton of time perfecting it after every shower. regardless, it will always be easier than long hair, even if you have a different hair type than mine.

i am a huge advocate for short hair and if you’re worried about being less feminine that’s definitely not gonna happen

oh man i used to have short hair and it was great very freeing and fun but sometimes you gotta use hairpins to stop your bangs from blinding you if you play sports. also depending on the length it might feel weird to lay down? when i was growing out my undercut my pillow felt really bristly and it was unpleasant :( but from your picture i don't think you're going to have that issue so no worries ^^

love how quickly short hair dries and i don't think mine got any greasier compared to when it was long? though wish i'd learned that combs > brushes for short hair to give it a nice texture? like a less fine toothed comb i forgot the word for it.

hair wax or pomade is easier on the hair than hair gel if you're into styling. make sure to shampoo it out thoroughly afterwards!

looked up "asian woman short hairstyle" and got these? idk if these are close enough huhu good luck on your search!

Also not sure exactly what the hairstyle is called but I would ask for above-the-shoulder length hair with strong layers. The closest thing I know of that looks like this is a wolf cut:

Thanks so much everyone!! I really appreciate the time you took to answer for me! I guess all hair lengths have their pros and cons. It'll be interesting to try out the short hair and it can always grow back if I change my mind haha. It's a little intimidating but I guess you gotta bite the bullet sometimes!

It looks like a long pixie, maybe sub category as "long pixie bob" or "long pixie with v cut layers".

Personally not too familiar with hairstyles, but I like mine short. And I love durarara, ehich the photos from. xD

Short hair is just more comfortable.

Ouch be careful with those layers and beaver tail though... I literally had like that while growing out and since I'm not a styling person I looked hilarious... Think I prefer the anime one honestly :p And yeah layering doesn't work too well with those waves either, I'd just go bob/shorter pixie :3

Well you pay them for their crafting of your hair, not necessarily binary oriented stuff. It takes more effort to style and shape a longer hair from start if you want something more than a simple cut/shave hairstyle. I agree only for trimming ends if that what you mean they were expensive but yea c'est la vie.
