Im a brunette and I've been having the thought of going blonde for some time now. Problem is, my hair is dry I think. I wash my hair twice a day and i think my hair's been damaged or something from the frequent washing. Should i bleach my hair? Serious answer please.

Also, the reason why i wash my hair twice is because I have greasy hair so after 6 hours of bath my hair will get kinda greasy. So i cant go without a day of washing my hair twice.

nah, keep your natural color, if youre concerned about your hair being damaged then i seriously doubt bleaching it will help

Bleaching your hair, specially at home by yourself, is extremely damaging, if you want hair then rushing into it is definitely not the way to go.

Why do you wash your hair twice a day? That amount of washing really isn't good for your hair at all, the natural oils in your hair keep it strong and shampoo depicts those oils, therefore damaging your hair. Washing your hair twice a week or less with shampoo will greatly improve it's quality, using lots of strong conditioner and coconut oil as a hair mask can bring your hair back to health pretty quickly.

Bleaching your hair is fun though, and if you really want it, then it's probably something you should try. I'd just honestly recommend bringing your hair back to health first and getting it done by a professional to reduce further damage. I've been bleaching/dying my hair for the last 8/9 years and if there's one thing I can recommend, it's don't rush. Seriously don't rush it, taking time to get the hair you want is way better than rushing into it and messing it up. Also coconut oil, always. put it on your hair before you bleach it if you're doing it at home and use it as a hair mask, it's a hair-saver, honestly. It's hypocritical of me to say as I bleach my own hair but getting it done professionally will drastically lower changes of disaster.

If you really want your hair bleached I suggest going to a place to get it done, preferably one who uses treatments after bleaching the hair to re-nourish it. I've heard wonders about Olaplex and I plan on when I am able to get my hair bleached in the future to get silver or other colored hair to find a salon that uses it, or buying a sample set myself so I can ask the stylist to use it.

I read this as: Should I drink bleach? '_'

No I don't think you should, especially if your alone, my uncle had to be brought to the hospital because of an accident he had while he was alone.

also one more piece of advice: i recommend testing out how you'll look with blonde hair by taking a photo of yourself and photoshopping/editing you hair to be blonde and then that way you can decide if you actually want that color on you instead of taking the risk of actually dying your hair and possibly not liking your color choice

You should if you want to. Just don't wash your hair for a couple days before you do it so you can build up natural oils that will protect your hair from damage.

I wash my hair twice because i have oily hair. Meaning my hair gets oily after like, 6 hours or so after bath? And the oily feeling is kinda unpleasant so that's why i wash my hair twice a day. I once tried to not wash my hair for 3days and oh god, i felt like i was melting with the oil or something.

hmm, have you tried dry shampoo? it can help your hair not get so oily between washes

By washing it twice a day you've probably made it more oily. :/ Not washing it will fix that but it'll be a gross process. You could just be super oily though, my instructor at school perms her hair because that's the only way she can manage the oil.

But seriously, do not bleach your hair. Depending on how dark your hair is now you're going to damage it even more. The darker it is the higher volume of bleach you'll need. Also if you do decide to PLEASE don't try to do it at home by yourself.

I am reminded of that video of the girl straightening her hair and suddenly burning off an entire clump of it.

Don't want that sort of thing to happen? Don't damage your hair.

You should do better things with that bleach. For instance, i would wash my whites then drink the rest of the bottle.

DON'T bleach your hair, it will only make it worse, especially when it's dry right now!!

My suggestion to you? Stop washing your hair twice a day. I know that's kind of gross and it's not very nice but if you're just staying indoors for the day then don't wash it. Just tie your hair up or whatever and leave it. Washing your hair twice a day is actually worse, it's making it more greasy by you doing that. So leaving it will actually help extend the amount of time you can leave your hair without washing it. I've been doing that recently and sometimes I can push it to 3 days without having washed my hair, just because I might avoid using a hair drier or straightener on my hair, or if I'm staying indoors I don't feel the need to. :)

I would suggest not doing it. You can do whatever you want, but I personally think it's a terrible idea.

Ohh but if it's already so dry, wouldn't bleaching accentuate more on how dry it could be? I think natural brunette hair is so very beautiful already, most natural things are o;
