what's your hair care routine look like?

With curly hair over washing my hair was a problem in the past, so now I was it 2 a week. I use a scalp cleaner/oil on days I workout and don’t wash my hair. I like to use blue shampoo on my hair once a week bc I have red/chestnut/ brown hair and in the sun and it can turn a little WONKY. And besides that I use an apple cider vinegar shampoo, it really gets rid of build up and dandruff. I use leave in conditioner, gel, mouse, and edges wax when styling! And I like to add coconut oil as well as castor oil on my scalp and hair. (CASTOR OIL actually does really help with hair growth! Just plain castor oil will help u grow your lashes, brows, and hair! I’ve seen significant growth and have been using for about 4 months!)

However if I go one day without washing my hair, I notice the oil... and if even longer it is absolutely disgusting and very visible from across the room like wet hair. I am an oily person for some reason and so is half of my family
I guess I am the same way. I have always had oily skin. If I dont wash my hair daily, I can feel it. As far as hair being damaged, I assume that is for longer hair? (Again, super short hair here, so maybe I dont count) But, arent their shampoos that clean but also take care of your hair too?

I had a friend who made claims similar to this, but not just hair... she might have been right about washing too much, but... the smell...

I also don't like lotions but have to use them in the winter for my hands. I have been trying for years to find one that moisturizes, but doesn't make my hands feel oily. A lot of ads claim this, but I don't find it too be true.

I've been meaning to put more effort into my haircare routine and try some different products. I have long, very thick, dark brown curly hair that's prone to frizz 🥲 I wash my hair every 2 or 3 days depending on my schedule and how it feels. Straightening it gets rid of the frizz usually.

Right now my routine is:
- Shampoo with Tresemme lamellar shine shampoo
- Rinse
- Condition with Tresemme lamellar shine conditioner
- leave for a bit
- Rinse
- Comb some John Frieda Frizz Ease into my hair
- Towel dry by twisting and squeezing hair
- Leave to air dry for a few hours
- Straighten hair when its completely dry

I've really been wanting to try the Moroccanoil anti-frizz products recently, so been thinking of buying the mini taster kit full of travel size ones.

Hair being damaged is for longer hair, because the oil has to travel further to cover the hair but the scalp getting stripped and then producing more is a thing regardless of hair length.
There are shampoos that have added oil in them. I think most actually do but some advertise it more. I don't know if the rules change if you use the ones that really advertise it or not. I don't think too much about it and just wash my hair if I'm not liking what it is doing the next day even though I aim for every other day.
I don't think you could bathe your body too often though. Body skin isn't as delicate as scalp skin from what I've heard. There is ph regulating skin soap if it is a concern I guess. And lotion... Which I don't like. When I have to use something, I just coconut oil with gloves when I go to bed since I only need it on my hands in the winter. I seem to absorb that better and it doesn't burn and I don't have to be conscious for its texture. Regular hand wash in the morning. But yeah if there is a smell, they need to bathe more often than they are.. smell comes from bacteria and I doubt it is beneficial bacteria..

Every morning I put water into my hair and slick it down and then brush through my hair to neaten it. For washing I shampoo at night.
