Hi all!
So ever since I started playing WW, I have always kind of had the same (mayor) name, town name, town tune and town flag, and overal town theme in WW, NL and PC (as much as that is possible). It sounds very inspirationless maybe, but I really like and am attached to the identity which I created, since it just perfectly suits me and my style (even after ~ 15 years). Sure it has changed a little here and there to fit my current view, but basically the main theme has stayed the same.

I like the concept of the same town and villager evolving through the multiple games (although I realize they realisticly can not be the same character). Because that way me and my villager sure have evolved over the years, but we are still the same person and have the same friendship or however you can call your bond between you and your character ig.

But now I am doubtfull wheter or not I should still commit to this identity? Am I too set in my ways? Because I am afraid I am just gonna create a hollow shell if I try to do the same thing over and over again.
Especially because I read about so many people here who are always creating new ideas, themes and styles and designs for their towns. They are being so creative and inspirational, but my first instinct is to just use my same style again. I like the idea of having something familiar with me while starting a new adventure. Like having the same sidekick in a different movie or story.

I dont know if what i am saying makes sense :p sorry about that

What do you guys think I should do? Anyone who can relate to this problem? :p
I would like to see other peoples perspectives on this.

This sounds a whole lot like my original dilemma LOL. I was completely set on using my OC again as I have throughout the series and in NL I even had her become a gangster and run a somewhat fairytale/fantasy-style flowers and roses look whilst hiding the shady and gruesome underworld business and living in a posh upstairs suite hahaha. I actually had to think on this a whole lot and personally I realized that with the main series evolving to this amazing degree, why not just self-insert myself for once and build what would be essentially almost like a real dream home?? <3 I actually was also inspired watching Reggie of Nintendo with his cute version of his home xD

So overall, I am for once going to simply make myself and create what my dream island and favorite companion villagers would be : ) I feel like for myself this would be the most enjoyable way to start a gorgeous version of Animal Crossing. Whatever you decide, best of luck as it definitely takes some real thought this time around for many to feel the ideal character/name etc. out o/

i mean, the identity that you’ve been using means something to you so i would go with that - you could always try new landscaping ideas or even create a side-character if you have any new ideas aha

If you are unable to decide between either, maybe splitting the island with later tools would be an idea? One half dedicated to you classic style, and another for crazy experiments, perhaps even with a secondary character for yourself.

I can say personally that I will bring my character that I had since AC:WW (AC:GC was real me still) and his "style"(pink, swords and general crazy a bit) but I will mix it up, with maybe even an alternate character or two. Good thing the switch is used by only me anyways :p

Haha, I love the gangster idea! That is so great. Yeah, it is really nice to do some roleplaying with my character, so maybe I can create a basic, ideal version, which I can sometimes change to another style if I feel like it...

But I do agree that making a self-based character might be the perfect base to play with. I'm really looking forward to how the game will develop for everyone!

Yeah, reading back I feel like I might just should stick to mt gut feeling and go with what I already have. And if i feel like it could create changes in another way.

I'm really excited to see other people have the same thing as I do, kinda sticking to the same character through all these years.
But I do agree with you all that I should try to mixed things up if i feel like it, with other characters or even a divided island. Especially that last one is a great idea i haven't even thought of!

Thanks for the input :) i feel a little less conflicted now haha
