My character's eye, hair, and skin color are similar to mine, but that's where the similarities end for the most part. And for the eye color, my eyes are more bluish gray than straight up blue like my character's are. Sometimes I do dress her in things I'd wear in real life, but there are also plenty of times where her clothes aren't similar to what I wear at all
My character doesn’t look anything like me. Maybe hair and eye color, but I’ve never found a game that I can get close to looking similar to myself. It might be a good thing bc it might freak me out.
My character looks kind of like me, with the restraints of the game. My PFP here is basically how my character looks. I wish there was a darker shade of purple for the hair, but I’m glad to have purple at all given that wasn’t in some of the earlier games (although the original actually had a dark purple hair but you couldn’t change it from whatever you started with). The hairstyle better matches my hairstyle that I had for several years, including when I started NH, and I’ve changed it a bit now but I don’t know that a different hairstyle in the game comes closer, cuz my hair is now two-toned purple and blue and that’s definitely not possible. But I think the hairstyle I had before is pretty similar to this in game one. So it’s a vague representation of me at least.
Outfit-wise though, it’s pretty mixed. Sometimes it’s stuff I typically wear, sometimes it’s stuff I wish I owned, and sometimes it’s stuff that looks fun on my character but I wouldn’t really choose for myself in real life. Whatever feels right on a given day.
I made mine look like me I usually do that in games where I have the option to do so. Sometimes I'll experiment with different hair or eye colors, but most of the time it's just like real life. I do dress differently that I do in real life though.
Absolutely not. My character is an OC, not a representative of who I am. Even the birthdays and names don’t match. As for looks, my character looks completely different to who I am. I’m a man, fat, and have gray hair. My character is a woman, skinny, and has blonde hair.
Not really! My rep/side character look so much cooler than I do in real life. If I were to style my rep to dress like me it would be kinda boring to play as them cuz all I usually wear irl are jeans and a t-shirt
i do usually start with basing my character of me with same hair colour, length, skin colour and eyes, plus I often dress my character in the cosy clothes I love wearing irl, but over time I've mixed it up quite a bit - mostly by swapping my hair colour a lot in the game, usually to pink or blue, and wearing a wider range of clothes.
I actuallyjustmade a post about how I set up my characters XD
Anyways, I spent a while with my hair dyed red and it's become one of my favorite colors for my hair when I can afford to dye it. So, it's my preferred color. And a person can only dream of having purple eyes. *sighs* She also always has on glasses because I have to wear glasses or my near-sightedness has me practically blind.
So, yes and no. She started out with how I'd like to look and has since become her own person.
Nope! When I started New leaf I styled the character after myself when I was playing casually, but then I started playing a lot more with how she looked and she developed into a completely separate character, so I decided to make her an OC. So when I started NH I came in with the plan of making an OC from the start, so I just went with what styles I thought were cool and her character kinda came together as I played.
Funnily enough, I actually had my AC character wear glasses like a year before I ended up getting my own. Every outfit I would always be like “hmmm needs glasses, just feels right.” On my villager and then when I went in for my physical the dr caught I had an astigmatism and I got glasses right after that.
I never model in game characters after myself, also not in animal crossing. I enjoy branching out and creating new OCs with interesting styles and aesthetics- because irl I’m far too shy to dress/style myself like that.
I don't play as myself in video games. I always like to make as many player characters as possible in the Animal Crossing games, whether 4 in the older games or 8 in New Horizons. Partly because I want more storage space, partly because I like interior designing and want more opportunities to do so, partly because having more characters adds more incentive to play the game, partly because having more characters in the town/island makes things feel more lively.
I like to give the characters different personalities, likes, dislikes, hairstyles, clothing preferences, etc. so that they're their own people. Maybe sometimes a character will wear an outfit or style I might irl, but it's more coincidental.
