The Bell Tree Fair 2014 Patch
I have my 3ds xl and might upgrade to new xl, is it worth it?

No.

No games use the new functions of the New 3DS, don't waste money on this one. Buy a regular 3DS! I don't think any major games are coming to the 3DS anymore.

But, if you're a big fan of 3D (which was greatly improved on the new model), maybe it's worth it.

The new 3DS has better specs which means games run on a faster FPS. Especially games like Monster Hunter 4U that are more heavy games, probably one of the reasons Xenoblade chronicles is only on the new 3DS because the game is too big for the specs of the old 3DS. The system is also faster and I found it more reliable.

I like my N3DS, but I got the HHD bundle one, because I have small wrists and hands, so the XL 3DS was kinda giving me carpal tunnel.

The specs ARE better, so if you'd like your games to run a little smoother, I'd say it's worth it. Especially if you play games like Monster Hunter 4U or Hyrule Warriors Legends.

If you have Extra money,Why not buy it . but if not u might wanna wait till Xmas i have a felling between now and then it might get a price drop.

I wouldn't recommend it even for games like Monster Hunter and Hyrule Warriors. Unless the upgrade is going to cost you at least 100 dollars, I wouldn't buy an entirely new system for over 200 dollars just for only one or two titles. Save that money, and use it for Nintendo's next console.

Sooner or later, the 3ds's lifespam going to end since it's been out for years now.

I bought the New 3DS (not the xl) and I think it's definitely worth it. I bought it as my 2DS was faulty though, not just for an upgrade

i use my 2DS as abook shelf End .

At this point, replacing your current handheld with any New 3DS model really is a matter of preference. There are things you need to take into consideration before deciding you'll purchase one of these models or not.

The 3DS library of games is already great for your good old 3DS XL, and the amount of titles exclusive for the New 3DS models being pretty slim is pretty much a foregone conclusion. The only titles that your regular 3DS model can't play are:

  • Xenoblade Chronicles 3D, in which the near-identical Wii version is available for download on Wii U
  • The Binding of Isaac Rebirth
  • Runbow Pocket
  • SNES VC games, which can be also purchased on Wii U

To aid you further deciding whether or not you should get a New 3DS model, here's a list of the differences you should take in consideration:

  • Super Stable 3D Effect: With the help of the camera len found next to the 3D Screen, the 3D effect will be adjusted accordingly to your head. This makes much easier to get the most out of the 3D effect.
  • Built-in C-Stick, ZL and ZR buttons: Remember the Circle Pad Pro and its XL variant? Well, you don't need to lug those anymore! The New 3DS models incorporate these extra inputs, allowing you to take advantage of the Circle Pad Pro features found in some 3DS titles.
  • Built-in NFC reader: Do you own 3DS games that support amiibo? Well, you won't need to get that IR NFC reader; the new handheld have that built-in.
  • Improved experience of certain titles: Certain games that are released between late 2014 and today takes advantage of the slightly improved specs of the New 3DS model. You'll notice that these benefit from improved performance (e.g. less loading time, smoother gameplay) and extra buttons support.
  • microSD Card-only: Have you ever upgraded your SD Card with a capacity of 8GB or higher? If it isn't a microSD variant, then you'll need to get one, along with a Philips #00 screwdriver. Yes, you really have to unscrew the bolts from the back cover of your New 3DS model

I don't really like the finish of it (it leaves so many finger prints ugh), but I still think it's worth getting if you don't already have a 3ds :3 the little analog stick is very useful and I think it functions very well.

If you already have a 3ds that works fine I probably wouldn't upgrade. I only got my new 3ds because my regular 3ds broke
